Hello All,
Just bought LOMAC & am using it in XP & have the X52 Pro joystick. My Q is this - how do I enable the stick to work in LOMAC, where would I find the joystick input/drop down page.

My other Q IS :- how flyable are the A/C in this sim, e.g, are the flaps/radios usable & if so, how as I can't see any reference to them in the key board print out.

How flyable ?
Flaps useable - Yes, F will toggle flaps up/down.
Radio useable - Kind of. You can give basic commands to the AI wingmen in your flight ( but not to any other AI aircraft), you can request info from AWACS if the mission contains an AWACS aircraft, etc. Which key gets you to the radio command menu depends on your countries keyboard (you might try out the following keys \ | # ~ and see if any of them work for you). If you look in OPTIONS, set the upper right hand dial to INPUT, set upper left hand DEVICE to Keyboard, then BUTTONS, then COMBAT and then about 30 lines down is "Communication menu" and its key assignment. Mine says KEY_BACKSLASH but on my UK keyboard that is actually the # key

X52 ?
Don't map your X52 buttons etc in the lockon options menu because you will always get 33, 34, 35, and 36 as always on. Instead set them up using the X52 own (SST) profile editor. Once you have played about with SST for a while, it is pretty easy to figure out how it works.
Only use Lockon for setting your axes, OPTIONS, INPUT, DEVICE = Saitek X52, AXES. There is a TEST button so you can see that the stick axes, rudder pedals and throttle are working OK.
From memory Thrust - Axis2, Pitch - Axis1, Roll - Axis0, Rudder - Rotator2 (assuming you dont have rudder pedals and need the twist rudder on the stick).
Dont be fooled by the fact that the OPTIONS, INPUT page always shows DEVICE =Keyboard when you initially go to that page. Some folks mistakenly think that their stick setup has been lost and only keyboard control is possible. It doesn't work like that, all devices that have been set up will work, it just shows keyboard because that is always first in its drop down list.

Thanks for that very valuable info - it has helped me out enormously I'm used to flying professional apps such as Wilco/FeelThere Dash 8/Embraer CRJ 145 Boeing 737/2/4/5 LevelD 767 & so on & so forth & I was expecting to fly the LOMAC planes the same way - no chance - I was horrified to find that the cockpit is unclickable (all those lovely dials/switches going to waste ) going back to key boards is like going back to the dark ages
Could you tell me how use the radios to set ILS frequencies please, & as I would like to use the X52 Pro to its full extent - could you tell me if anyone has a preset profile for LOMAC (as I wouldn't have a clue how to build my own ) further: could someone advise me on the installation of the same, to the said stick - as I am just as bad at that too ( I did try it once - but there seemed to be a problem converting the files to Pro. )
