Hi all,
I have been using TrackIR4 and when I connect my Siatek x-52 (non PRO) I get a bell sound and my TrackIR refuses to work. Happens 80% of the time I use both programs. I am using XP2 - any ideas? Other system components are easily good enough for LO-FC. Anyone got a previous version of the Saitek Programming software?? Thanks. |

Are they using the same USB hub (next to each other)?
Try moving one of them to the front? Do the lights change on the TrackIR unit? Is it detecting the TRackIR unit, within the software? |

Thanks NP_Vincent,
Ok so here goes: 10-20% of times, right off the bat, my TIR4 works fine - normally the first time I use it in a night. On 80-90% of times that I use TIR4 with LOMAC, I here a bell (error!) noise when I start to try and fly a mission i.e. I click Open Mission on the home screen or I click Fly! on the home screen for the A-10. 90% of the times this beep happens, I cannot use the TIR4 system i.e. no head turning. The other 10% of times times, it works (bizarre, eh?). When I then exit LOMAC to the desktop the TIR4 has frozen and an Unhandled Error box is on the screen. I have to go to Task manager to shut it off as it never responds normally. What's also happening at that time is that a TrackIR file (no file extension) is being automatically created in my Config folder each time I seem to try to fly (I assume it is created when I hear the beep). The file is never there immediately before I boot up Lomac. The two seem to be connected somehow but I have no idea why. Regardless of placement of the USB connection, the issue is occurring. My TIR4 is now on the front panel, was on an external USB hub, but this effect was also happening when it was connected to the backlplane of the MOBO - my X-52 was also connected there at the time and still is. |

To answer your earlier questions, the lights do change - blue goes off momentarily (barely noticeable) when the beep occurs, then returns and then turns and remains off past a certain point while the mission is loading.
Outside of the game, i can track and see the heads aetc etc no problems. |

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?
Try - open your LOMAC->Input folder, and delete the TrackIR.ini file; then go to LOMAC->Config folder, and delete the TrackIR.ini file located here as well. |

Hi Vincent,
I have 4 profiles plus a backup directory. The Default, flight, combat flight and racing - all 2kB XML files. The backup dir contains the same files. I did delete the TrackIR file from Input and the TRackIR file from the EnglishVersion subfolder within the Input folder. I also deleted the trackIR filke from the Config folder but, as I described to you in the first post last night, this particular file (1kB) continually gets recreated each time I attempt to fly or open a mission. It does not appearto have a .ini extension on the file, however. In fact, it does not appear to have an extension at all. |

Anty other TSR applications running in the background?
|
|||
|
No, no other apps running. I think I may have solved the issue myself. I'll report back when I can confirm 2 nights in a row of uninterrupted head turning!

Remedy???????????
|

|
This isn't really related, but what is the point of haveing a PAN switch on a joystick if you've got a TrackIR.
And what is the point of having two PAN switches on the x52??? |

If you mean a 4/8 way HAT- they can (and should) be used for targeting cursor & radar scan cone manipulation. These commands also operate both the A10 maverick camera as well as the shkval targeting system on the Su25T.
Unless you'd rather use the 4 awkwardly placed keys.. Need help? Click sig for Kon's *NOOB FRIENDLY* LOMAC site Click HERE for LOMAC FAQ's. The key to flying is to throw yourself at the ground, and miss.. |

I have an older TrackIR so use the up/down of a hat switch for zooming my view in and out, the left/right of the same hat, I use for zooming in/out the HDD radar range.
The other hat I use for moving the radar scan cone (as Konny said above). Targeting cursor movement, I use the throttle mini stick..... Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum.... |

hey man, that "dinging" sound you are hearing is telling you that something on the saitek is inputting some sort of command or whatever into your computer. probably your zoom on the precision slider. gotta keep it centered, or else it goes all crazy.
oogity boo. now what about that issue im having with not being able to zoom all they way back in the cockpit guys? huh? lol. |
