i finally got bored with the quick-flys, and i wanted to try out all the other stuff in lock on that isn't in the built-in missions (which i think is a rather poor way to design a game). so i tried out the mission editor. but there are some things i can't figure out. most importantly, how to get the player-flyable aircraft in there. i put an su-33 on a carrier deck and clicked the button that said "client". i figured that was how you made it the player aircraft. started the mission and enjoyed an external view of it sitting on the deck, unable to fly. not even the jump to cockpit worked. i also added awacs and tanker craft with the mission editor with a couple quick waypoints, but they were not listed in the briefing. apparantly there is something else i need to do other than just put them on the map.
For the AWACS ,you must assigned in the editor to this plane a rectangular pattern to be acomplished some two or three times,depending how long the mission is, far and safe out of the combat zone.For the ALT, we can say 10.000 to 12,000 m for the A-50, speed between 500 to 700 kph. For the link contact data transfer we must turn ON the radar of the MiG-29 one time, then, turn off and the information is in the screen and also is trasmited vía radio or we can also request the information vía de transmission menú. For the tanker, that work only with the SU-33 and I have never utilised this choice because I fly only MiG-29.I suposse the tanker must fly also in a rectangular pattern,a so called hypodrome of refuelling with continuos ALT and speed, then aproaching(the request of HDG is available vía AWACS),taste R for activate the refuelling boom and then follow the instructions of the boomer.
