Hopefully there's still some activity here. I have scoured the X45/Joystick threads here hoping to find an answer ... No Joy.
My problem is as follows: 1) My X45 is calibrated using Windows Control Panel/Game Controllers 2) I enter LOMAC (1.02) and goto the Options setting. When I select the Input section and then change the Axis setting to X45 Joystick, the "+" indicating the "center" of the stick always goes to the lower right corner of the box. 3) No combination of curves, deadzones, etc can correct. Its as though LOMAC thinks I'm holding the stick in the lower right corner. If I move the stick, it does register, but only at the extreme throws of the stick. In order to hold the "+" in the center of that box, I have to position the stick in the Upper Left corner. Is there any way to "reset" lomac into thinking my joystick is centered? It is, and it's calibrated that way when I review it from the Windows control Panel. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Grrr... for what it's worth, I installed Pacific Fighters and got the exact same result. Now I suspect that it's the Saitek Driver.
Great, I'll never get it uninstalled... |

YOu can try:
MAke sure you are running the SST "as administrator" YOu do this by right clicking the icon, and selecting the check box. But I suspect that the X45 isn't going to work real well on Vista. I know the .dat profiles are a no-go. There is a newer driver that uses a .pro as a profile format, but you cannot just use, save or rename your existing .dat as a .pro . |

Thanks Kon!
I think you're right. I am kicking myself for installing the blasted Saitek drivers. The stick worked great (without SST) before I did that. I got greedy, and installed the Saitek drivers thinking I could get a working stick AND programability. Now if got neither I've tried uninstalling the Saitek driver over and over ... regardless of what I do, the stick just doesn't work. I attribute this mess to the inability to uninstall the Saitek crummy driver. I fear my only real recourse is to ... yes ... re-install Vista. Problem is, I knew better! Oh well, I guess I have to chalk this up to experience. Anyone have a sure fire way (outside of format/re-install) to remove the Saitek drivers and get back to vanillia windows? I've followed the Saitek FAQ uninstall instructions (what a joke). Now that I finally have a gaming rig to run Lomac Max'd out, I stumble outta the block. Aw shucks!! |

Success! Sort of...
Thank you Microsoft! I had completely overlooked the "System Restore" feature of Vista. Its the ability to "Roll Back" your system to a known state, as if you'd never installed those "bad drivers" to begin with. I rolled her back to before the Saitek driver install, and volia, I am back looking at a "generic X45" windows driver. The think calibrates and centers perfectly in LOMAC! I am back to flying. Now I have to figure out IF I can use the LOMAC configuration to drive HOTAS setup to some extent. Regardless, I am a happy camper. Hopefully, this helps someone avoid the frustration that I've had over the past few days. And major wasted time! Now I'm back to bustin tanks in the A10. |
