Hi Guys/Gals

I hope you can help as would love to be able to play this game.

The problems I am having when playing this on Vista:

1. When the game is running all I see is a black screen, I can hear sound and read the instructions in the top right but thats it.

2. The Flaming Cliffs CD does not install, some sort of .exe error comes up after about 10 minutes of the CD spinning.

I'm not sure if these issues are due to my system and it does not meet the games requirements or not. My laptop is running a Mobile Intel® 945G Express Chipset ( http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/945g/945g-overview.htm ). Is this sufficient enough?

I also haven't installed any of the game patches or the starforce update as I don't know where to find these.
I have read some of the threads that are related to dodgy displays on here but have already checked my motherboard has the latest driver updates.

If somebody could help I would really appreciate it.

Here is the DX Info. The game seems to work fine apart from the in flight graphics which are all over the place. The planes are black and the landscape is all over the place. Please help if you can.

Although it states 3GB Ram below I actually have 4GB, just Vista don't pick this up.

Lockon (and likely other games too) need a graphics card rather than built in chip set on the mother board. 95% of the folks who come to the forum with graphic problems like you descibe is due to not having good enough graphics.

Excellent, I did actually think it was a Graphics Card issue myself (not trying to be clever). I'll see if I can install a graphics card in my Lappy.

Not likely. Mostly the graphics are PCI and you pretty much need a PCI/E these days.

That's hard to pull off on desktops these days- nevermind laptops. For a while- the only PCI card you could replace a chip with was a radeon 9200..
