GUYS,

ALL YOU NEED TO DO FOR LOCK ON TO RUN PROPORLY IS ( BESIDE HAVING THE MINIMUM HARDWARE) IS TO
MAKE SURE THAT THE CPU TEMPERTURE STAYS LOW.
NO BODY HERE IN THIS FORUM TALKING ABOUT THIS.
EVERYBODY TALKING ABOUT TRICKS AND STUFF.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IF YOU KEEP THE CPU AND H.D TEMPERTURE LOW.( CPU<65degree, HD<51degree)
you have no problems.

IM NOT SAYING YOU DONT NEED GOOD HARDWARE.
BUT EVEN IF YOU HAVE 2G RAM WITH PENTIUM4
WITH ATI 9800PRO, AND GOOD SETTING, YOUR LOCK ON GAME WILL GIVE YOU A THE BEST 25-20FPS.

i INSTALLED THE COLLING FAN AND A NEW GRAFPIC ADAPTOR X1950 PRO AGP , AND A NEW POWER SUPPLY
AND GOT FPS=30-37 WITH SETTING= HIGH

THX

You think maybe the new graphics card had anything to do with the higher FPS?

Old benchmarks from the firingsquad.com website:

And it never hurts to get a little more horsepower into the CPU either:

Im sure it is, but with out the colling system it wouldnt be happen.

and that is what happen to most people -they upgrade the hardware, but forgett about the temperture issue.

Sorry menylea I don't agree.

PSU: More than likely this upgrade fixed your blue screen, jams, stacks, crash problems you mentioned.

Video Card: The credit for higher FPS goes here.

New HSF/CPU cooler: Nice, but probably has no influence on crash problems or FPS increases. If you took the new HSF off and replaced it with the stock cooler you'd have the same improved performance.

If you're case already has good basic cooling you should not need a seperate HD cooler.

I dont agree about that.
after i put the water resulotion on high instead on very high I have fps=60 nand drop down to 50 on complex scene.

I think the HD temperture is a very importent issue - so should be address by a separte solution. since CPU over temp cause to stacks I do beleive there is a connection.

thx mate.
