Hiya, I'm new to this forum, got this game for not so long ago.

Anyway, as I've noticed this game is rather buggy. There's a 1,02 patch that will hopefully fix some of these bugs.
I use keyboard (I KNOW, I'm supposed to have a joystick, but it does not work, theres no response from it in LOMAC)and believe it or not, keyboard works just fine. I can do everything I need to do, I remember all the commands, and I'd say I'm doing quite well. I'm able to land on carriers, do aerial refuels, and own in dogfights.

My problem is that when I install the 1,02 patch, the pitch gets screwed up. (You know, up and down. That's pitch, right?) Instead of going back to "neutral" when I let go of the button, the plane keeps pulling up like I'm still pushing the button.

I think this is because the game now has support for joystick, and therefore acts like it's getting the signal from the joystick (And therefore keeps pulling up when I let go). It ends with me reinstalling the game to get rid of the patch, so I'm atleast able to fly the plane normally, but being bugged to death.

Is there any kind of setting or anything that I'm missing here? Is it too much to ask for to be able to control one's plane, without the bugs?

You don't know much about flight do you?

It's called "trim" You have to trim aircraft almost continuously. As your speed increases- the wings produce more lift- thus you climb. Only the F15 in LOMAC has automatic trimming.

The game has always had joystick support. I would bet just about anything that you have not properly set up your stick for use in LOMAC. Read this and follow the instructions. When you apply patches or addons- some items are re-set to original defaults. The keyboard is completely useless for flight controls.(other than maybe speed/wheel brakes) Keys do not allow for precise input to flight surfaces. I've got news for you- a live pilot with the most rudimentary flightstick would dominate you- badly.
