I have the X52 HOTAS from Saitek and LOMAC is the only game I have issues with it on. I have not done any programming yet because I can't even feel this thing out. The problem is with the axis responces. When testing in the menue screens it works fine. The little cross moves in the box as it sould as I move the stick. In game it never works right. Testing on the A-10 the aircraft always noses down at all times and wont respond to pulling back on the stick till I have it pulled almost all the way back. In the F-15 I have the same problem but with the added twist that it always rolls right instead of pitching down. I have no idea what is going on but all my other games work fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not a windows or joystick issue. All joystick software and drivers is up to date. LOMAC has the latest patch. I've never been able to play this game since I've gotten it....

Are your buttons, sliders, hat switches etc programmed in Lockon OPTIONS or with the Saitek SST profiling software?

I HAVE NOT programmed it yet. I always do training missions first in new sims and write down commands I want to map later. Then do all the mapping and testing once I have a good idea what I want to do. So for now, It's just getting the axis to work right befor I do any programming.

konkussion, I will check your site you linked. Thanks.

The reason I asked about setting up the stick is that I seem to recall reading that there can be problems with the X52 in Lockon whereby one or two of the default settings for buttons can screw it up (something about they send a constant stream of inputs from the stick or something), and that you have to clear out all the button, hat switch etc settings from within Lockon OPTIONS to make it work correctly and instead use the Saitek SST profile editing software for butons and switches.

I'm no expert, I'm just wondering if this might be related to the symptoms you are seeing.

No luck so far. I'm still not getting a responce till I have teh stick back far enough to put me in a 4G climb. Not good for anyhing like landing or even aiming.

I am on Vista if that has any effect?

If you are taking over in a track- then the Auto pilot (likely ALT-HOLD) is engaged. Hit H to shut it off, or possibly A.

Basically hit the H key ONCE- see if it responds, if not

A key once-- check

A key once again-- check.

One of these WILL fix it, but you WILL continue to have issues until you complete the initial setup on your stick.
