First off, my issue is not the cockpit view issue I've read about (at least I don't think it is). I just installed LOMAC for the first time on my new Vista rig. Upped it to 1.02, installed Flaming Cliffs, and then upped it to 1.12a. Problem is that when I launch the game, my mouse completely disappears. All the menus are there, but I can't select anything. Only option is to do ctrl-alt-delete and kill the software completely with Task Manager. Once I'm back to Windows desktop, mouse resumes normal function. Has anyone else run into this or know why my mouse is disappearing? I'm anxious to play, but I can't get past the opening menu screens. Weird stuff.

Never seen anything like that. However, for Vista you need the 1.12b patch not 1.12a.

That's the only possible thing I can think of that is LOMAC related. Make sure you download the patch from the site, and not install it from a copy you had on your HD from earlier.

FYI- the patch on the site is 1.12b- however it's possible that within the game itself- it might not say that... But at any rate- if you d/l & install from lockon.ru, you'll have the right one.

Another idea just popped up in the back of my head! Are you using TrackIR?

I D/L 1.12b from the lock on site, but it said 1.12a on the screen when it was installing. I can't tell what version it is after it launches as I can't get to any of the submenus without mouse control.

I may do a FULL uninstall when I get home tonight, and try to re-install from scratch. At what point did LOMAC pick up Vista compatibility? My CD is 1.00, but I have the upgrade file for 1.02. I'd like to check the mouse issue out before adding FC. Troubleshooting is so much fun!

P.S. to Pigeon - I don't have TrackIR. The X52 Pro I ordered with my new Dell is scheduled to be delivered today. Once I get the hang of it, TrackIR may be the next "toy". Looking for a fairly long learning curve with the X52.

Ok... Now, I'm assuming that you have the english release version of the game...
Try this patch: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloa...=17&file=724&lang=en

I re-installed everything from scratch last night, and re-downloaded 1.12b from the LO site. It installed properly this time. Was still having the same mouse problem, though. I installed 1.0 from the disc & tried launching without doing ANY patching. Same issue.

Then I *finally* figured it out. I toyed around with the Mouse Settings in the Windows Control Panel. Turns out that the glitch was evidently being caused by "mouse trails" being on. Cleared that check box & it worked fine. I changed all sorts of settings, and it continued to work fine. Put a check back in "mouse trails", and the mouse disappeared again. For whatever reason, that particular option conflicts with LOMAC.

Bad news is that it was time to feed my daughter when I finally got everything up & running. Maybe I'll have some time to play around this weekend. Are the in-game tutorials a good place to start? I've already watched ironhand's A-10 starter videos, and they were great. Next step is to get the X50 Pro installed, and then take to the skies. Man that thing has alot of buttons! Smile

LOL! Another 'known issue' to add to the list! Too Happy

The in-game tutorials are great, but be sure to also take a look at Konkussions site (click his signature picture) and check out the video tutorials at flankertraining.com.

Of course, the best way to learn how to play is to read the manual... and play on-line... Wink
