Hi I'm new to aviation and was just wondering when I'm in game flying the flanker for example, the plane gradually goes down when I leave the joystick alone.
Is it suppose to be like that or should the plane have a levelled flight when I'm not touching the joystick at all?
What is trim? And I'm using a Genius F-23U joystick. They say it has some trim sliders underneath the joystick but I have no idea what's it for nor how to use it....
Forgive me for asking you these questions but I'm very new to this scene.
Fisrt- visit my site and download the manual, maybe the theatre maps, and whatever else you want. Make sure you read the flight hardware setup page to make sure your stick is configured to the best setup it can be for lock on.
"trim" is a fine adjustment of an aircraft's control surfaces intended to offset the natural characteristics of your plane and it's tendencies relative to speed.
As your speed increases- your wings create more lift, and you will climb. To offset the tendency to climb- you trim the elevators so that they angle upward (front to back- relative to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft) This presses airflow on the underside of the elevator- thereby raising the ass / lowering the nose.

Padlock fixes a target (air or ground) in the center of the view. That means if you are facing more or less forward- and you "padlock" an airborne target the view will follow that target. You will NOT be able to see ahead of you, or your gauges until you release it.
In most sims, easy flight mode prevents you from stalling. I haven't tried it either in Lock On though... Maybe it has something to do with the Su-25's flight model.
Besides a good HOTAS setup, TrackIR is probably the best piece of hardware you can get for serious simming. I would get one if I wasn't a poor student who has to hunt little children and dogs for dinner...
BTW. I use the keyboard to zoom in and out and my hat switch (on top of my joystick) to change my view angle.
