Man, what a great set of missions. However, I need some advice on how to approach the 2nd mission. Dranda Defense. If I go for the bridge I get taken out by a Strella. I can't see **** w/ my Mavericks (and I don't know why). I don't know what to do. Please help!

Are you using the K's or the D's? Use the D's- better range, and easier to see thigns in IR.

I need some strategy advice. Thanks for the Reply... CR |

read the briefing throughly, and see if the mission maker placed on the map before flying. If the waypoints & icons are there- see where the Strela is, and keep note of it. If no icons-then you'll have to basically narrow down a search area by keeping track of where the attack occurs from your last waypoint/turn. Once you have some idea where to look- line up on that heading, and scan with maverick D's back and forth about 7-10 miles in front of you (indicated on HUD pipper) Zoom in if needed. Fly slower while looking, watch both the screen and the environment for a flash- this is a missile launch. Don't try to lock onto the "flash"! Note the heading needed to find it, and GET OUT of the way! Live- & come back around for another pass.

Glad to see people are still enjoying my campaign.
I have gotten back into Lockon with some friends onilne, and have been converting these missions into multiplayer. The fog is thick in a few of them. Like konkussion said, use the D Mavericks. They are infra-red and can hit their target at 6 miles away, where the K's are usually only good for 3. But the fog changes things. There is a target designator over the two bridges, but not the AA I don't think. You can edit the mission if you like. Open the campaign in the Mission Editor and on one of the Menus you see a item called Declassify. Then type in 'hogfly' and you can edit the campaign and fly any mission. |
