Hello all,

Just started playing LOMAC and really enjoying it, but a lot of the campaign missions seem to load me with mavericks and mk20s only.

is it possible to 'kill' t-80s with the mk 20? i've tried but haven't had much luck. If its not possible then i dont see how i can complete some of the campaign sections, as i simply dont have enough ammo. Up till now ive been gunning them instead, but i cant fly that low on a-10a mission four because there's too much aa and i need to stay high.

Aside from this, are there any tips for a-10a campaign mission 4? ('NATO Cavalry'). Am having real problems with it, keep getting nailed by the TOR. Any hints or tips appreciated. Thanks!

The key to flying is to throw yourself at the ground, and miss..

As I recall, your goal on this particular mission of the A-10 campaign is to kill a platoon of T-80's (a total of 3 tanks). Loads of short range SAM/AAA around. Foggy so tough to see what is happening on the ground.

The tanks are targeted in the mission editor so you get a diamond in your HUD to tell you where they are.

Stay real high above the defences, lob some Mk20's down at them. Allow for the bomb fall time - first 1,000ft 7 secs and add another 3 secs for every 1,000ft after, e.g. from 15,000 ft it is 51 seconds, so aim ahead of the T-80's while they are still moving on the road. With hard targets like tanks, one Mk20 may or may not be enough to kill a tank, so you may need to plaster them with several.

Any left over from that, use your 2 Mav's to finish off.

Actually this might just be one of the handful of the missions where you win even if you never take off Wink

Try it, just sit on the tarmac and use your view keys to watch the friendly ground forces kill your targets for you.

Stay above 4,000 metres/13,000ft and the AAA's won't bother you... of course it makes timing unguided munitions troublesome but you'll be almost invulnerable to enemy air defences.

Climb to 13,500... fly right over them, enter a slow dive and gun the hell out of the T-80's and then fly full speed ahead once you've dropped to about 9,000ft.

It's not a particularly hard mission, it's just the fog makes it annoying.
