I'm reluctant to say that any onboard video will get the job done. Besides the lack of pure horsepower- they do not have sufficient cooling, no ability to process 3d or any high speed action

Ah rgr. I don't follow then. Can you use this card?
Either way- I don't know how it compares with your current onboard chip. I think the card is way too old to bother with. That said- if that is the only alternative- for $50 it might be worth a try. thanks for anyone who helped, esp. kon... I ended up getting a Radeon 9250 PCI, and Lockon is running 20-25 fps, albeit at 1024x768. I'm enjoying it either way. see you in the skies.

Hey- excellent. If you decide that this series (LOMAC) & the next ( ?? from E.D.) is where you want to fly long term- You can make an investment in something "sick" later on.

Yeah, so I have sort of similar problems to some of those here. However, I am not sure of what others problems are . . . the pictures are no longer hosted. Here are mine:
Messed up Polygons Incorrect Textures Even in Flight Sim 2004 If left running, it will get worse and freeze the whole system. The only possible causes are DirectX or the Video card drivers. I have tested GPU temp, RAM placement (which delayed the time until the problem showed up again, but did not fix it), RAM integrity (it had no problems), different versions of VGA drivers (in-the-box and most recent), multiple games and versions (FS2004 and LOMAC (v. 1.02, 1.1, 1.12a) show symnptoms, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter have no problems), multiple settings in LOMAC. I did what the author of this thread suggested (unisntall VGA drivers and reinstall). Nothing have fixed the problem. \Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Temp\Error.txt

I've installed the "Ultimate Flight Collection" and the only game with a problem is Lock On, the problem it has is the planes are totally black like if there is not texture, Why is that?!!! and it's only Lock On!!!! IL2 & Pacific Fighters are running just fine! My Video Card is an ATI Radeon 7000/Radeon VE |

Wow, I didn't even know there where different LOMAC sections in this forum,so I had posted the following in general discussion, but I guess it should go here: Hey guys, I have a problem with my 7900gt and LOMAC. This is the first Nvidia card I have owned in a LONG time, and none of the ATI cards gave me this problem. It's ironic, but I only switched to Nvidia becuase some websights reportes that benchmarks were much higher in flight sims like LOMAC and Pac Fighters with Nvidia cards. Well, I still get slowdowns every so often (like over cities), but now I get this horrible corruption too! This is my third EVGA 7900GT (it is the new "fixed" refresh part number KO version), and I'm still getting the same problem. Since it is only happening in LOMAC, EVGA is trying to insist that it is LOMAC and not the card. Is anyone else getting this kind of problem? Im having a big problem. None of the textures on the airplane are appearing, and the cockpit is horribly messed up and no ground features are appearing. I really want it to work, but I dont know why its not. I have 2 200Gb hard drives, 1.5 GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X300 graphics card. I just recently got Lock-On Gold with the expansion disc, so I dont have any patches or anything downloaded yet. What should I do?

Hi, I've got a problem with my picture but I'm not sure whats causing it.
System specs Vista Ultimate AMD 64 Athlon 3000+ 1 Gb RAM Nvidia 7600GS 256mb I've updated everything as per above posts. I'm using the latest nvidia drivers and I've updated to the latest DX 9.0c. Anyway this is what happens. I run the game and start a quick mission. I quit back to the main menu and I get small blocks of white and black squares all round the screen. If I start a new quick mission it happens to the plane and the ground etc. It quickly gets worse and worse til you can't see anything at all. If i quit to desktop and run the game again its fine for the first mission/flight but then goes to poop after that. I did take a screenshot but for some reason it hasn't shown up. I'll try and get another asap. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Update: I took some more screenshot and on all of them they were clear. No problem what so ever but the problem was there when I was playing. Anyone had similar problems. incase this matters I can run IL 2 Sturmovik 1946 fine with no problems. |

I got lock on coz i met all the system requirements (surprisingly) and run it no errors came up but when i start the cockpit is black and outside looks like a very premature scene, I have installed my latest drivers but still nothing happened.
My processor is an AMD athlon 64 processor....850Mhz Os Microsoft windows xp proffesional, 320mb of ram, Direct X version 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904. Graphics card - Nvidia riva tnt2 model 64 pro 32mb memory Driver name nv4_disp.dll version 6.14.0010.4523, no problems found on all the tests. I dont know what to do and yes im late so please can you help me? PS. the link didnt work |

Blumagic32 I am having the same issues to. I don't know what happened to my pc. It seems to freeze now or monitor goes blank. Is there any cure. I have tried disinstalling no good..

vegemite, not too much traffic on this forum especially the stickies, these days - Lockon is over 3 yrs old now. You should know that UBI dumped Lockon a couple of years ago, but were kind enough to keep their Lockon forum going as it contains some good info. But Lockon is by no means a dead Sim, still plenty of folks fly it if you know where they hang out.....
