I'm getting an awful FPS drop when flying the carrier plane (just the 'instant action' mission). The carrier engages a ship (fun), but my frame rate drops from 40's to around 5 whenever there are splashes. I'm miles away from the action, the splashes (5 to 10 of them) amount to maybe 100 pixels all up.
If I look away, my frame rate is normal , so its not my processor or ram, it appears to be a graphics issue. I know you get slowdowns when flying thru smoke etc, but this is so much worse than anything I've seen before.
Any tips? Its a fresh install+patch 1.02. All my settings are low, so reducing them is not an option. And its a Ti4400 card.
Yep, I have noticed FPS slowdown on a convoy escort mission I did. Any AI that got through and dropped weapons (that missed and made a splash) hit the FPS. Also there have been threads on here before about FPS slowdown when folks shoot the water with cannon, guess drawing the pretty splashes is a killer...
sorry to resurrect this, but has anyone by any chance found a solution for this drastic fps drop? otherwise, the game is going well performance-wise, but this water-splash-when-ships-fire is killing the fps. thanks
