Starting with version 1.02 you can land and shut down your engines. After about 3 minutes or so- the aircraft will be repaired.

For re-fueling and re-arming, you just have to press to appropriate keys once you are on the ground.

yeah- There is a required delay for re- arming. About 5 seconds after you FULL STOP.

Shutting down is not req'd for refueling unless you are flying one of the Frogs in Flaming Cliffs.

Here's a little vid I did on this subject - English with Russian subtitles.

If you let a bit of the movie load in your player then skip forwards to 2:30 you will see the repairs take place. The canopy opens by itself when they are complete.

DPS.

not long after reading this thread, i went to land for refueling and rearming. i tried to do it right and use flaps (i find it much easier without). end result was i lost speed and dropped out of the sky, smashing my landing gear. so i thought hey, i get to try the repair thing. shut down the engines, went to drain the sea monster, came back, and after at least five minutes my belly was still on the ground. a couple flights later, i again landed and rearmed, taxied back to the runway, and just as i was about to take off another plane landed on top of me (for the record, i requested permission to taxi to runway. the only time i have ever done so. Hammer) well, he grazed me really. no visible damage, but the alarms went off with a couple of different warnings. so i try again. used time compression, waited for about 5 minutes on the cockpit clock. that didn't work, so i thought maybe it doesnt work like that. waited 5 or so real-time minutes. no joy.

so basically what i'm asking is, is there a limit to the extent of repairs? or does that just not work altogether in 1.02 or something?

First- if you are losing too much speed- increase the thrust a little, or drop the brakes. The plane needs your help to land, bro. It's not going to sense what you want it to do by osmosis.

Yes- not all repairs are included in that script. It won't replace your canopy if you were to jettison it either.

How to do it.
Each press of CNTRL/A will speed up, each press of SHIFT/A will slow down.

Problem you be will sure to get. Roll Eyes
You will accidentally hit just A and that will engage the autopilot and you will be scratching your head trying to figure out why the d*mn plane is suddenly flying so cranky.....

You can not repair on the Runway
You have to taxi to the Apron or at least you have to be near it on the taxiway.

Yeah, one of the 3D modellers needs to make a crane and a flatbed. Smile

Sorry, had to say it. Until we have something like that we're SOL. Wink2
