Hi guys, can someone tell me how to land a F15?But please tell me so that I can operate in the cocpit.E.G. In the traning videos the say speed in KM per hour but in the F15C's cocpit there is only a indicator that displays it in Knots. Thanks
You may be having trouble if you're following the route/waypoints of a pre made mission. Typically the mission maker does not set up a real "initial approach" waypoint for the F15's & A10's which have totally screwed Navigation modeling. (the SU's & Mig's set one up for you automatically)
So anyway- once you know the airport your going to land at- you need to make sure you line up with sufiicient distance (time) to get into the right glide. Once your lined up on the runway- make sure your aircraft is in landing mode- that is- your ILS needles have come up on your HUD. You can simply follow the guidance they offer to you. As far as speed goes- I would say keep a constant 160 kts or so for the final leg. Deploy your flaps under 250 kts, and when under 200kts flaps to the landing position. you could also deploy the gear now to help you slow if you came in slightly hot. Otherwise deploy gear about 3-5 miles out. As you're about to cross over the runway- throttle back and deploy the speedbrake (if you haven't already) and let her glide downward and touch down around 130- 140 or so. Published approach numbers assume a certain weight range. If you're heavy- you can come in a little faster.
