admjg8: Yup your solution works!!!
I got a GA-EP35-DS4 mb with a onboard sound controller from Realtek (something with Azalia) The first time i changed only the first occurence in the registry but that didn't work. Then I searched every entry with 'Device Presence' and changed emulated to '0' en VxD and WDM to '1'. So you really gotta change them all. |

Okay, I've tried everything listed here.
regedit dont find the files, i dont have a modem, and changing soundquality or shadowthingamajig. nothing seems to work. however, i looked around in the "My documents" folder and found a crashlog, and there it stood: +-------+ | AUDIO | +-------+ c:\AUTOBUILD\ChromeEngine4\engine\SceneGraph\XAudio2\AudioXAudio2.cpp(317): [audio::xaudio2::CAudioXAudio2::Initialize] hr = 0x80040154 (Class not registered ) ERROR Audio initialization failed, no sound [Audio] No Sound could this be the problem i'm currently running Vista64 home premium. |

Hello, i tried everything and still no dice. Sound still doesn't work. Im patient enough, ive waited for so long i don't mind waiting for patch only if i know that the patch will fix this. SO will it? IF it won't then anyone got any OTHER ideas. Nothing worked.

YES! sound is finally working!
none of the solutions above worked for me, but here's the neat little trick that worked: I upgraded to Windows7. I guess CoJ didn't get along well with my Vista 64bit :P |
