I think that this game dont uses a potential of horses. In wild west was horse stealing very popular job. I suggests to make game mode based on it. Steal a horde of horses or a high value stallion from guarded area. Protect at horseback a stagecoach traveling acros bandits area or as a bandit stop and rob it. Catch and hold a wild horse under control of your team for certain time to gain a money.
Sounds a good idea, but you have to ride the horse to get it to move. Pity you cannot herd the horses. But I think you could steal them and take them from one place to another. One for the map makers I think.
