Hello
I have a simple question, ive read the FAQ, but wasnt sure about it.
This new browsergame, is it like travian or tribalwars where you have to log in every day
or is it like Heroes of War and Money where you can play whenever you want?

*I hope its like Heroes of War and Money, because i dont like the real time games like travian and such because then you have to log in everytime and i dont have the time for that, and those games will be reset..... that sucks... then all your effort is gone
So can someone please answer this question for me?
because if its real time then i dont have to wait any longer til its open beta bcz im not interested then. But if its a strategy game that you can play whenever you want... Oehh... then i cant wait to start xD

You should've read the info posted by Yaiden:

"How long is a game day? I gather you can run a queue of tasks to take time but how many game days fit into real day (roughly if it is still being determined)?"

The time in the game is synchronized with real time. Each task scheduled by the player is indicated on a timeline in the top of the interface. This timeline matches with your daily agenda, so you can schedule your tasks to optimize your time.
Every task can be tweaked so you can extend or shorten it by spending (or saving) more gold and resources. For example, if it's impossible for you to connect to the game before 6 PM, don't hesitate to delay the actions that were supposed to finish sooner. You will save some resources Wink
We wanted a system that really allows you to manage your time.

If it's anything like Ikariam it'll have a "vacation mode" so that you can freeze your empire when you aren't playing.

But generally speaking, my experience with these kinds of games is that you get out of it what you put into it.

I think HOMM:K will be good enough that you'll want to play it every day. Smile

and what about a reset?
is it like travian that after a few months the whole server gets "resetted" and you lose all your effort you did so far?

We don't know anything about that.

But in travian and the likes you don't lose all your effort you did as this effort either leads you to victory or defeat.

Resetting a server keeps people interested the game won't be fun if all you could do is build up everything to max and terrorise the little ones.

well, maybe you know Heroes of Might and Magic
its a browsergame where you have units and a hero with a level, its a bit like this i think
But there you dont have a limit or an end to the server, its like an mmorpg, you can play whenever you want and your character will never be deleted bcz the server ends, i was hoping it was the same for this game.......

I know I got bored of it as after some games you can easily tell that against which faction you have no chance which are beatable and which don't have any chance against you. The only change is when you level up but it's so slow you have to be grinding for years.

I just said that generally browser strategy games don't promote open servers as it doesn't really hold people's interest while being strategically unfair.

Maybe there will be open ended servers in HoMM:K maybe won't. We(or at least me) don't have any information regarding this so we can only speculate.

Think something along the lines of ArchSpace / ArchMage, which are both considered browser based MMOs as well, and I imagine this will be similar.
