This place is starting to look like the Starcraft 2 forums.(not a good thing, by the way. *hint hint*) There hasn't been an official update on the development status in months. All that's been posted is something to the effect of "The beta is well underway." and other bits of vagary. Is there even a tentative time frame for release? Are the testers going to play the beta for a year, then possibly have the developers consider scrapping the project for budget reasons? Is anyone even allowed to say yes or no to these very general, non-specific questions? Does anyone who posts here actually even KNOW anything?

Heck, just tell us that no one's allowed to give any details if it's somehow embarrassing to tell us that no one knows.

A project update even to just let people know the game is still in the making would be nice but seeing how the last moderator post was 17 days ago and a offical post is now going on more than 2 months...i kinda losing any hope for information on the game...

Well no news is the way of gaming companies. UBI soft gives out a lot more info about the games beftore realse then lets say blizard. Its normal for there to be loong periods when there is no news. And since this forum is still open the games is still in production.

So be patiant ubi will have this game out as soon as they can.

Man are you serious? Did you even try to follow Diablo 3? We got skilltress of classes (betaversions) long before the game is released... but anyway that's not the topic here.

I'm kind of sad that there haven't been recent updates... slowly I start to believe that ubi shot this project down due to the recession... hope that's not the case...

still kind of funny to see:
Your questions about the game *** NEW UPDATE November 7th ***

well still ich check those forums every 2days...

Still i dont quite get the policy. Whats the point of not letting us hear a word for over 3 months.
How will it hurt the company to give us a little update or to post a few screenshots.

Why is this beta so classified?

I followed the development of another project (not a game though) some time ago. After 1 year of inactivity by the staff suddenly the website and forums disappeared without any notice, there were some discussions by the users until then.
When a project gets cancelled, you don't pay anyone do do anything about this project, including posting an announcement, closing the forums or changing the website. I'm not saying that HoMM:K is dead, but the mere existance of a website and a forum is no evidence that it is still alive.
However, seeing that the threads of other languages are more active, I tried to read some parts using google translations (yeah, mostly crap). It sounded like someone heard of someone who was invited to the beta earlier this month. If this holds true, there is still some action going on.

If Ubisoft canceled a proyect, you all would be the first to be noticed about it.

The last moderator actions are far from 17 days old. Some new threads are "disappearing" every now and then.

By the way, if there is a closed beta then the participators are not allowed to tell you anything about it. Any talk would be deleted right away by the moderators and the tester kicked out of the testing or given a sharp warning.

There would be news if the game got canceld.

And as i said its normal that there is a quiet period after the game is anounced. The reason for this is that a game is always deleayedSmile

Because, participation in any closed beta is subject to a Non Disclosure agreement, no Software House likes details being prematurely released, and there's a variety of reasons, ranging from Competitors getting valuable info, down to simply misleading those waiting, if details of gameplay get posted by testers, and then are altered in the final release, a lot of people would probably complain.

That's why any such posts would be deleted, and in a worst case scenario, a tester who broke the agreement could even be subjected to legal action. Surprised

Well beta testers dont see the whole game so if the toled anything i would be misleading.

And if the devs say anything they cant change what they want to later.

it nice to see moderators are still responding to the site. If moderators never responsed than you know you have something to worry about.
