Does anyone know a way to make allied soldiers fall under the player platoon's command? Even if you can't give them orders, can you at least make them follow you?

The only way I know of doing this is to set them to hostage behaviour, but if you do that, they won't engage the enemy until you bump them...

What I'm writing is a mission where there's some American soldiers pinned down by enemy fire after their helicopter crashed. I want them to fight off the enemy as best they can, while you come in and rescue them. I then would like to get it set so that they'll then follow you for the rest of the mission as you clear the rest of the map...

Any ideas? San? Cob? My "guardian angel" Paul (I can't believe someone said that about you!!)?

Yes, some poor deluded soul did indeed say that about the trouble-maker we know as Paul... Maybe Paul paid to say that? To improve his reputation?

The mods I make are just for a laugh, and they're not on any websites. I have however got two missions on my computer at work that I sent to Paul and a couple of others, so if you like I can email them to you if you PM me your email address... They're all based on existing maps within the game, so it's just the Igor file to add into the Mission folder of you GR directory...

dont quote me on this san or someone else may have a better idea. Hostage behavior makes the actors brain dead intell you touch them. If you leave them off hostage they will fight back.

I would do

1. Do a proximity for player platoon like 1 meter. than put them in hostage.

2. keep them off hostage when all the enemies are dead that need to be put them on hostage

Map want made: A mostly flat map some small rolling hills. on 1 side a little trench that you can walk through and down into. On the other side. some little bunkers with sand bags that can have 50 cal MG. about 50 feet in front of the bunkers with the sand bags barbed wire across the whole map. From the barbed whire back to behind the trench have spots that if a damage effect is there that it will blow the ground up and make a crater.

Size of map: medium to large.
Sky: cloudy.
Weather: Rain
Terain: Grassy some bushes and srubs few trees.

Oh yeah... Never bother looking too closely at people's sigs... You've got mail anyway...

If you like them, I've got a few more written that you can try if you want to - I'm in the middle of writting a campaign at the moment, see...

susan grey goes to hostage behaviour
Trigger Event:
A member of Player_Platoon is within 2 meter(s) of Susan Grey.
Responses:
Allow this block to be reactivated.
Set Susan Grey to hostage behavior.
Disable the susan grey hostage script blocks.
Enable the susan grey escort script blocks.

A single place for everything would be good. Certainly for the new campaign anyway, so everyone can access what's available and try it... I'm still not sure how easy it's going to be for everyone to have an input whilst it's under development, as everyone will have different bits because the mod will constantly be updated...

Ask Jake, see what he says. I have to be honest and confess that I haven't actually had a look at his site, but if it's good then it seems an ideal location. I may even consider allowing you mere mortals to have access to my campaign when I finally finish the damned thing!! Just as well I wasn't doing it commercially, trying to make a Xmas release date!!

Well,...there already are some pics of 3ds weapons on Jake's site. Maybe post some more? Maybe some screenshots from missions? Maybe some of Cobaka's maps?

You could also post one mission from your work as some sort of a teaser for the rest of them?

I'll ask Jake what he thinks of it. It is HIS site afterall...

Guardian angels are indeed immortal. Just two minor points though: I'm more immortal than a guardian angel, and you're not a guardian angel anyway!!

By all means ask Jake what he thinks - he'll probably offer his opinion in this thread later anyway! As for a "teaser" mission of mine, do you mean one of my other ones for the campaign I'm writting? If so, there's already three "teaser" missions out there - and you've played them! Sigma Claw, Acid Strike and Castle Siege are all out and about... I've actually (at Snipe's request) put the three of them together in a zip folder with a readme file. That could go on the website I s'pose... You should feel honoured if/when you read it: you're mentioned in the readme file! I must've been feeling overly generous the day I wrote it!!!
