Thank you, it's a little start, but ok. I'm surprised, but in two days some special persons are writing to me. So the minus that i can do is working hard. For all the community.

Like I said in an earlier post...What exactly do you already have? You will need the program to make the maps. This program is called 3dsmax. You MUST have this to make them. There are many tutorials out there.... Do you have 3dsmax? If so, we can direct you to some good tutorials to get started. I would suggest you start out with making something more simple like a gun... you'r are for me a guardian angel...:-).This is the first time that I give to the community my main resource: the time. For much time I've got the best of Flight simulator of falcon4, Rsix and Ghost recon it's right now give to all my pleasure day with mod and stuff.For me is the sense of the life.However I've 3dsmax4 I've already surprise to meet very special person that help for none.This time is vey hard for life.This is my problem at now, how I can explained in other forum where I have meet this special guy: For you My respect, you are a correct young and I apprrezzo this.ok this is my trouble now: Ok... I'm around let's start from some link that I've from that person tell you up. A world is open for me (thank) so I've read, read, read. Translate, read, translate and so on. (In this wild excitement I have unintentionally squash my little guy, but this is another history....:-) So I've set up my Max ver 4.2 (Mike shell tutorial, papa6, javaman, and a lot of resource, in a mad furious, that teach me. Next step I've build more of a simple box for learn and know the basic. First time I've forget the roomfile.txt and other minus oversight.Finally the map is export correct with no error and count of polygons is ok. I'm very happy, run in Igor for build and test my fisrt map. I've comply with tutorial, so write -igor.exe" -buildbinary- and to create a mod folder in mods folder of ghost, then transferred file map into new mod folder.I've created an environment file with modifiy existing (m01_caves) then feverishly (I think you see what I mean!) I select "new" hit cancel and so on....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH....Igor crash and my bottom is on the desktop. So I've I make over again, but after many test I have more complicated my idea. I've tried with a ready map found in one tutorial calls two_level.zip, I look that the tutorial is for Rogue spears, but the basic is the same (scenecenter shermanlevelhigh etc. so I've imported, look around and exported from 3ds with exporter for Ghost Recon. The file is a previous version but I don't save in new. The map is exported very well with no error. But igor crash again!!!!!!! So I put the final map already compiled with texture in map folder, but igor crash again. For test open an *.env file from original mission, and all ok. So, why this map not playable? I've learn that the essential elements of a valid map file report in the level builder reference document v 1.1 from red storm, are: 1) a cube called scenecenter 2) a rectangle with level=1.0 called shermanlevelhigh. A room called with _01 in the group with one face called and tagged floor in the map module. So the essential elements don't tell of windows or other parts, portal, if not are two room or two level. I've make only the essential for reduce the error (A CUBE!!!!!), not texture not transition, stairs....AAARRRGGGGHHHH. This is the essential!...or not? Obviously I have respect level geometry of rooms official size, floor. May be that In this nightmare I've suppose that is all right but is not so. An uman error hit a number or another little mismatch. Ok, Now I have end my doubt. Must I write in private mail? If you tell me, it's good idea I don't Know this simple trust.. what way is right here? Ok, I'm waiting if you ready for a newby as me. Make sure that rectangle is named shermanlevelheight1.0. All maps must have at least one outdoor room. Outdoor rooms start with the number 1. Examples are _1, _10, _11, _1000. You can have more than one outdoor room. Do NOT use room _100.
See if any of this helps at all. And if you already have a .sht file, make sure you delete it before you try opening any new version of the map with igor -buildbinary. A man only needs one rectum. - F. Salter, "Recon Scout" |
