I am trying to reinstall g.r. (was crashing in start up) and it got about 89% done and a message came up saying:

component:Core game component
file group:mods_sound_music
file: F:\data2.cab
error: data error (cyclic redundancy checks)

and will not allow me to finish installing. Anyone know what is going on?

Seems it has something to do with a mod you have or had installed.

If you haven't already, try moving all your mods into a folder and move that to another location. So not anywhere near the RedStorm folder...

Try installing it again...

This Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) means that the data on the medium u r using to reinstall GR is corrupted. There is no known of way to correct this, unless it's not on CD. I had this too and I had to throw away my cd's ...
