In team mode there are 4 platoons, 1 to 4 assignable either red, blue, green or gold.Is there a way of getting Igor to recognise each of these platoons individually. Want to create a Game Type File (.gtf) that scripts different blocks to different platoons, or even better to the indiviual Alpha,Bravo and charlie teams of each of these platoons.
Can only seem to find a reference to the Playerplatoon (which is all of the players) or the player actor (an individual player). Can i set a Platoon variable and set it to a colour or number that the GR engine recognises? Any Ideas appreciated BornToKill_TAW [This message was edited by BornToKill_TAW on Sun March 14 2004 at 12:23 AM.] |

We're not ignoring this, but I guess we just don't know. The guys who frequent here don't do much of what you're looking for. Probably the best bet is to ask in the ghostrecon.net forums - I think you've been there.

I don't know of any way to reference different player teams in MP, sorry.
Doing it for the player platoon in SP is easy, but I don't know of any way to distinguish between the different MP teams. |

Just To let you guys know i figured a way to do this, might be of some use to someone.
First i set up a Companyref Tag called "This Platoon", And 4 more Companyref Tags called Team 1,Team 2 etc. On startup i set up a companyloop on "this platoon" and set a "continueif" response to find company members at location, and set this to :- Company - This Platoon, Location - Base 0, Range 10meters. This finds all players at spawn zone 0. Then i set a VariableCompanyRef response and set:- Variable-Team 1 , Company- This Company. This sets all players found at Base 0 to a company called "team 1" Set a new group to trigger at "time elapsed 1 second" and disable the above block, now all those players and no others will be kept in this companyref (Team 1) Set up four loops like this for the other bases 1,2,3, and you have found all players and tagged them to a company ref of their own refering to the base from which they spawned. |

Seems reasonable to me, now you've described it. Just one question though: how the hell did you dream up that as a solution?!? Very complicated...
Glad you got it working though, and thanks for posting the fix for us! You never know when it may come in handy... |

Really? I've never played with the GTF files... Perhaps I'll give it a shot - create a really nasty gametype where it's almost impossible to survive. Then send it to Snipe to play, to see how hard he finds it!
