making changes to missions etc but if you want to build a NEW map you need to use 3D Studio MAX with the plugin?

Yes.

Maps are made in 3dsm, but once you have all the models etc that you need for a mission (actors, guns, maps etc) you use Igor to actually write the missions. You start with the map and then place zones, vehicles and actors (among other things) using Igor. You then assign plans to actors and vehicles to control them, and write scriptblocks to control the mission. All of this is done in Igor.

There's tutorials available online (try www.theplatoon.com) and also on the discs - I think it's the Desert Siege disc.

I have alrady used IGOR to change maps from rain to snow and from dark to light etc, i'm pretty ok with that.

I really want to make a new map for multiplayer games.

well then you do need 3dsm like you said, and the plug in is on the desert seige disc but there is a newer, better one on the island thunder disc. You will also need photo shop pro to make the textures.

hey all I'm working on a map using 3ds max v6 but need some info for igor.

Here's what I want to do with Igor.

U have two teams
Team1 and Team2 - an actor in team1 kills an actor in team2 how can I get that actor to spawn as a new actor in team1.

Team1 and Team2 - an actor in team2 kills an actor in team1 how can I get that actor to spawn as a new actor in team2.

Is there a way to do this with Igor if so please help if u can for I,m trying to use this fro my new map thats coming out in 2 week's and dont have much time to make this I got most of the script built allready thnks later

Mast982 Cant help you with the Igor script, but if you are using 3DSM version 6 to make your map i would stop, because the level exporter pluging only works for version 4, 4.2 and v5 but not version 6.

I dont need the plugin gonna convert the info of it all after I will get it to work.

Ah you got a version of 4 or 5 that you can load the max file, this should work.
Problem i got is posted in the thread below this one, trying to apply two textures to one polygon.
