Hey Kue, welcome to the other part of the forums!!
First, any missions you make and save should be saved in the "mission" folder of the mod it belongs to. So your IT map that you did should be in ...Mods\MP2\Mission, and your embassy mission (a GR map), should be placed in ...\Mods\Origmiss\Mission. If you did a DS map, you should save it in ...Mods\MP1\Mission. If you make a full campaign, you should put the missions in the Mission folder of the campaign folder, and if you have a new map (created by you or someone else, but not based on an existing GR/DS/IT map), put it in the GR mission folder. Okay? Right. Some other things to check, once you have the mission in the right folder. Open the mission in Igor, and check the Mission Properties and the Map Properties (both in the Edit pull-down menu). Make sure you name the map and the mission - something different to it's default so that you'll recognise it in Quick Mission. The other thing to be sure of is that you don't have "Requires Unlocking" checked - that makes the mission unavailable in Quick Mission until you've unlocked it in a campaign. So if you check all that, you should be okay. Message Edited on 08/22/03 01:04PM by Gav80 |

Thanks gav80, I was thinking I did save and had renamed correctly. I will double check when I get home tonite. Thanks for helping me.

Kue, np. If you have it named and saved in the mission folder, maybe you just need to switch off "requires unlocking"...

Thanks gav80 I will be sure to double check that. And by the way. My last attempt at the plantation map seems to work fine but the enemy AI keeps shooting each other. I think this is because I have at least 3 teams in close proximity to each other. I thought it funny as each time my team inserts the battle begins but they are shooting each other for my team inserts far from the first possible contact. Anyway it is amusing.

Enemies shooting each other are in different companies.
Also check in Igor->mission : available gametypes : single player. Gav80's way is good, but I like to keep the original folders to stay original, and put all missions in my own mod/mission-folder. Just copy a modscont.txt file in the mods-folder and edit it with name"yourmod" so you can activate it. ![]() San's Place l SANSITE Message Edited on 08/22/03 06:31PM by San__ |

Hi San,
recently I was fooling around with igor before I had a clue........OK I still don't have a clue. Anyway I created a folder and named it "original". I copied and paste certian missions from GR such as "embassy" to that folder. I then ran that mission in igor (original- not the one I saved in folder). I made several simple changes by just pointing and clicking. When I would try to save it would not allow. It would say the file was write protected. However I could make these same changes to missions in some of the various mods I have.Made me wonder if could change original GR missions at all. All missions from original game are write-protected.
Any change you make should be to copied original files without the write-protect. ![]() San's Place l SANSITE |

All Red Storm's missions are write-protected, but all you have to do is de-activate the read-only bit on it, and you can alter them... But you shouldn't do - bad practice and all!
You can save the missions either way - like I described, or in your own folder as San said. I've got my campaign missions in a separate campaign folder. |
