Guys,
How can you change a daytime map into a nighttime map? Thx for your help! Reg, PME a.k.a. SPIK@ "Are you feeling lucky today,..punk?!" SPIK@'s: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=384029 Alliance: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubgallery.asp?id_=319119 |

There are also mods with retextured maps, day to night conversions.
One way I know they have done it is by using a black sky, and black fog. ![]() San's Place l SANSITE |

I thought you could easily do this?!?! Change some things...add from other maps and voila, but no such luck...
If you would make a daytime map into night (moon etc...) You coouldn't do that by changing the skybox to one which is night (like M12 Docks)? That would not do the trick?? Reg, PME a.k.a. I've tried doing that Paul - I just changed the *.env file specified. It changed the whole map. Instead of converting the Caves mission to night, it gave me the POW camp at night. So it didn't change anything at all...
I haven't managed to get anything like that to work anyway. Maybe it is easy though, and I'm just thick - always a possibility!! Message Edited on 08/22/03 10:18AM by Gav80 |

If you change the env file from caves, with the skybox-file from pow-camp it should work, leave the caves.map file the same, that's the map.
Maybe want to change the clipping-distance(build map as you come near). In night you don't see that far, so this can be lower than in day. spotting distance : when AI sees enemy, in night this should be less than day. and fog. This is a part of an env file from my mission, I changed the spotting-distance to 150 (instead of 75 or so), so enemies could use sniper-rifles. you should change the skyboxfilename to the pow-camp one. farplane = the clipping-distance. maxspot = spotting-distance ![]() San's Place l SANSITE |
