every time i try to select a game i get "undetected version" or "this group is using this or that mod". what do i need to do?

ps i'm a noobie

1:Have got ubi installed an have an account?
2:Have downloaded the v1.3 and v1.4 patch from the ubi website?
3: Is ure GR copy downloaded, or copyed?
Ref (1 look at all the games u can join by lookin at which ver' u have. U can find ure ver' at the bottom right of the screen when u start Gr up!

Most servers run patch 1.4 and have the expansions Desert Siege (MP1) and Island Thunder (MP2).

Mods are files you d/l to augment the game.Subjects include: weapons: maps; missions; and total conversions. Probably the most popular out now are DAGRM4.9 and HX5. If you have a cable or dsl connection that is better as some d/l's are large in size. 56k is okay if you are willing to wait. Some are zip or compressed files you will need WinZip or similar program to unzip. Most mods will contain a "read me" text file which will aid in installing the game. Also look for install instructions at the site you d/l them from.

For "undetected version" try this:
Start/ all programs/UBI.com/ play online/ click login/

Under available games on the Ghost Recon click "Play Now" Under the heading "Multiplayer Lobbies" / "Retail" click GR Island Thunder.

On the top right click "Options/ Lobby Settings/ Ghost Recon tab

Click Detect/ Auto-Detect recommended/ place a tick in the drive where GR is installed on your computer/ click start/ ok
