In IGOR, you can change the spot range and all sorts of other ranges, but it doesn't let you change the "far clip" distance. Is there a file somewhere you can edit to change this parameter to accomodate faster or slower machines?
Sigh... I was afraid of that. I was hoping to open up some of the older maps to longer range shooting but was limited by the clip distance. Similarly, I was packing some other maps with more action and denser weather, so I needed to shorten the clip distance to assist game performance Oh well... thanks a ton for the help!
As someone who has played a great deal of GR with Digger, let me tell you to never listen to anything he says.
You can in fact change the clipping distance. What you'll have to do is go to the Tools menu in Igor and then select Environment Editor. You can then enter a new value for the Far Clipping Distance and save it. You can overwrite the existing ENV file, but I wouldn't recommend it. Save it as something else, and then open up the mission in Notepad, not Igor. The environment file is listed at the top of the text in Notepad (something like the fourth or fifth line down). Change the name to the environment file you've just created, save it, and you're away...

Yes indeedy, it was just as he said: it's a lot harder to describe than it really is. Of course, you end up with all these little .env files lying around in random folders... it'll be a little more challenging to create an install pack!
The easiest way is to create your own mod folder as a stand-alone mod and put all your ENV files in there. Otherwise your Origmiss mod folder gets very cluttered very quickly.
And yes, it's a lot easier to do than to describe. But I didn't know how much you knew, so I thought it best to be thorough...
