1. No
2. Main Menu in Ghost Recon, select Options then Mods. 3. www.ghostrecon.net has a good downloads section. 4. Nothing official. However you want. 5. A group of people that play together, typically sporting a "tag" in front of their name. |

Yak: Basically what HHour said, but just to expand things a little for you...
1, 2 & 3: Mods are not just for MP. In fact, I write all my mods for single player. There are mods of various descriptions, some involving just some new weapons, some having a few new missions, and one or two featuring full campaigns. Download them from a variety of places, but, like HHour, my favourite place is www.ghostrecon.net If you've never downloaded any mods and are looking for a good one, get Frostbite. Be warned though: it's a big download. And it can cause a bit of lag on some systems. But it's a great mod... Try a few others as well to compare them... Once you have them downloaded onto your system and installed (follow the instructions that come with the mod, coz it varies depending on what the author's done), start up GR and choose options from the main menu. Click the Mods tab at the top of the screen. On the left, you'll see all the mods that are correctly installed on your system. On the right is the list of mods that are activated. Use the Activate and Deactivate buttons to add and remove active mods. Mods at the bottom of the right-hand list are those with the highest priority. Some mods require a certain hierarchy, so read the readme file with the mod. Also remember that some mods are simple add-ins to existing mods, so they won't show up on the lists. 4 & 5: Clans are groups of gamers who regularly play together, normally online, but sometimes just on a LAN. They'll typically play co-op games together to develop team-working, but there's also tournaments you can enter where different clans compete against each other. There's no formal way to start a clan or recruit people into one. Take a look at the Team Recruiting Forum, where there'll be people looking to recruit others into their clans. |

One of the best places to get mission mods is at ghostrecon.net Go to the downloads section, and there are all types of mods - weapons, skins (uniforms), missions, and maps. Most missions should be available for single player.
Depending on how the mod was packaged, it may install itself into the right folder, or you may have to move it there yourself. Most mods should go into the Mods folder in their own sub-folder, so you should have C:/Program Files/Red Storm Entertainment/Ghost Recon/Mods then Origmiss (the original GR) mp1 (Desert Seige) mp2 (Island Thunder) any other mods Island village and market I believe are only available under firefight, defend and recon. There aren't any missions for those maps unless a modder made some. Some mission mods will install directly to the mission folder of GR, DS or IT instead of setting up their own folder. They should show up in the mission list when you go to play. A man only needs one rectum. - F. Salter, "Recon Scout" |

I know I didn't pay anything. But I did have to register.
After you download a mod, it's usually a .exe or .zip file. Whatever it is, you have to open it. Sometimes it extracts to a new subfolder right where it belongs, and sometimes you have to move it into your GR mods folder. Then you start GR, go to Options, then click mods. The new mod should be on the list on the left. Select it and click activate. It should move over to the left. Then you should be able to play it. Depending on the mod it may be a campaign or a quick mission. I don't know where Dark angel's mod would be. Probably on fileplanet, but I guess you would have to do a search for it. I've never subscribed to anything to download mods from GR.net
When you get to the fileplanet page for downloading, you should see high-speed servers that are only available for their members, but if you scroll down a bit you should see some public servers that anyone can use... As for installing and activating the mods, any decent mod will have a readme which will descibe what you need to do to activate and install it. Like Cob said, it all depends on how the mod was packaged, and how complex it is. Sometimes it has it's own folder in the mods section (which means you would need to activate it from the options page in GR), others are simple enough to just go into part of an existing mod, which means it's active whenever its host mod is active (eg a mission that goes into the MP1 folder will be available whenever the MP1 mod (Desert Siege) is active). |

ok. but i have installed, like, for example, hx5 red sun, and DA 49. now i go online, join a game, and i wait a little bit. now after about 10 sec. i see this little window come up saying, thissystem is running the following mods which you have not installed: and it shows like"i dont make mods, i mod mods
da 49 hx5 red sun =DRAG= etc. so how do i move it from folder to folder? |
||||
|
also on gr.com, when it takes me to fileplanet.com to download a campaign, (i have logged in) and a window comes up with like, pacific-no wait midwest-no wait eastern- 0 seconds or wtvr. now i click on midwest(that's where i live) and a window comes up saying this is only for subscribers. i click on subscribe now, thinking i dont have to pay anything, and i scroll down. i read what the package includes, and i scroll down some more. it says, how would you like to pay? credit coard or pay pal? is there any way to download without having to pay 79.95 a month? dang, that's a lot of money. that's more than my cable and internet access combined! thnx

On Site Archivist![]() |
On FilePlanet, there are two sections, one for subscribers and one for non-subscribers just below it. I've been able to download (without wait) from the non-subscriber section without problems. In fact, I also downloaded HX5 from there...
So, you installed the mods, which is further than I got (I may have downloaded, but I didn't install them yet), but I know with some mods you have to then go to Options, Mods, and select the mod on the left list and click Activate, which will move it to the right list. That should do it... hope this helps... |

ok, thnx crtchunk but i have installed it and i go to options, mods, and there is nothing there except DS and IT. i think i need to know how to move stuff from folder to folder...

I guess first you have to find where the mod is. Try looking in the folder you downloaded the mod to first. If it's not there, I guess it could be anywhere. After you find it, you can open a directory window to whatever folder the mod is in, then open another window to the GR mods folder - usually c:\program files\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods
Then simply drag the mod folder from where it is to the GR mods folder. Then you should be able to activate it in GR. A man only needs one rectum. - F. Salter, "Recon Scout" |

ok. actually i downloaded some campaigns that work, cuz they go to the options, mods, rite away. but like the online ones, hx5 red sun, da49, darkangel, i dont see them. but how do you move folders?

From the desktop double-click on "My Computer", then double-click "C:" or whatever drive your programs are on, then "Program Files", then "Red Storm Entertainment", then "Ghost Recon", then "Mods"
Now go back to the desktop and double-click "My Computer" to open a new window, then go through to wherever your mods are. Then Click on the mod folder you want to move and hold the mouse button and drag it over to the "Mods" folder. That's all there is to it. A man only needs one rectum. - F. Salter, "Recon Scout" |
