Now, I started making custom actors I wished to use as in-game specialists. I put the .atr files for them in the hero directories, made appropriate kits and kit folders, and put them all in the Unlocked Heroes files and made them to be unlocked after completion of the first mission of each campaign. And of course, they don't work. Any ideas/suggestions as to what I've done wrong or still need to do would be of great help...

The only thing I can think of is are you testing this via quick mission? or actually running through the campaign? If you're doing it quick mission, then the game program isn't set up like that. I had a similar problem before, and had to roll through the campaign just to make sure it worked.

However... you make a Campaign.xml file? If I remember correctly, you make this so the game recognizes it as a campaign, rather than a collection of missions. You have to go through Igor/Tools/Campaign File(?) to setup the campaign file. Remember when you first start up Igor, you have to select the mod first, by "MOds...." It will give a listing of all the mods you have in your Mods folder on the PC. There's a checkbox on the lower right(?) that makes it only choose your mod, so when you start your campaign.xml, it will create it in your mod folder only. After figuring that out, add all your missions together sequentially, then there is a tab that has Heroes. It should list your heroes/specialists that you created. Highlight your first mission, and add that specialist to that mission. Then so on and so on, and save. What you're thinking is that the Unlockedheroes controls that. It doesn't, the mods Campaign.xml file does. Unlocked heroes is merely a listing per mod of what heroes have been unlocked, so when you continue a campaign/mission, you have those available to you.

Further to all that, the unlocked heroes xml file is created by the game - you don't make it yourself.

And you have to save your specialists as the same filenames as the regular GR specialists (just save them in your mod folder, so it won't overwrite the original files).

If you've done all of this as me and Flanker have suggested, then I'm not sure what your problem is. I'm currently having a headache with the specialists in my campaign too - in campaign mode, they work fine. But when I play any of the missions in quick mission, I don't get any specialists showing up. I don't know what my problem is, but if yours is similar and I figure mine out, I'll let you know! It may be the name issue. I've had that issue in one campaign, and I think it may be a matter of priority as well. If you set your campaign at a higher priority than others, then you may get your specialists too.

That might work for Kozub, Flanker, but it won't sort mine out. Mine is already set to be the highest priority, and the filenames are identical to regular GR. Don't know what it is. But I'll solve it, somehow!

Might be a glitch in the Matrix..... Smile

Seriously, it may just that you have to rename the .atr files to something different.
