I know the trick to getting rid of this slowdown is supposedly to disable one of your cores in the affinity settings of the game after it's running.

However, when I tried that, the slowdown still happened. (Not to mention some of the clips, like the intro logos and the knife being slid into place, play multiple times.) Do you have to do it before the game loads at all? Because mine starts so fast I barely have time to bring up the right-click menu before it's switching the screen to the game.

Anybody able to help? I may not have paid much for this game, (got it on sale on Direct2Drive), but I'd still like to play the game I paid for.
