Alright guys, So I've just bought Double Agent (why, because I wanted to play with my friend online...)
I'm running on windows, with an Nvidia GeForce card, the 7 series. My specs are fine, and the hardware detection has no issues with my system. At first the single play didnt work, but I used the "-ll" trick in the shortcut path to let the single player to start up However, The multiplayer will still not start up, it simple gets to the Unreal Technology screen (If I'm lucky) and then pretty much freezes up after that. So, how can I fix this? Is there any shortcut command like the "-ll" that I can use? Could someone at least point me in some direction on how to fix this? Many thanks in advance. |

hmn, I'm running AVG free, but I doubt that's the issue...
I'll try disabling it and see how it goes. Another other suggestions? I know in the past there have been lots of problems with this POS of game, especially with nvidia cards. |

Most of the problems with Nvidia cards stem from the 8 series, as far as I know.
I had no problems with my 6800gs/xt when I had it, and no problems graphically with my ATI 3850. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

ugh..
I'm just ****ed off now. The game rejects recent drivers, and just totally acts up like a leper with **** in his eyes. God, this looks to have been a retarded waste of 10 bucks... I just find it strange that there is a command to fix the single player (that ll thing) but STILL nothing to fix these random acts of stupidity from multiplayer.... can SOMEONE at least just explain to me why it freezes at the Unreal logo thing!! I need closure!!! lol. But seriously UPDATE: I fixed my problem. If anyone else seems to be having the same symptoms as I did, what I did was make a shortcut of "SCDALauncher.exe" on my desktop, and in the shortcut properties, I changed the target to "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent\SCDALauncher.exe" -LL So I didn't add the -ll code to the splinter cell multiplayer or single player executables, but the main "menu" executable (SCDALauncher.exe) for Double Agent. Oh, but before I did that I also uninstalled and ran a clean install and chose NOT to install directx from the CD. |
