OS - Vista 32


Hi there. I have a problem with my laptop and games that was annoying at first, but now it's stopping me from playing a game properly.

It only does it with certain games, like Left 4 Dead.
After I am done playing a game of l4d I quit, like normal, but in the Windows task manager it is still active, and will continue to be active until I close it in windows task manager. So for example, if I quit l4d, and come back to it awhile later, I will have to close it in windows task manager first before I can load l4d again.

Annoying, and I dont understand why it doesnt complete the executed shutdown, but anyhow.

I just got splinter cell chaos theory. Old game but awsome one at that. The problem is, the same issue involves Splinter cell, but in splinter cell, if you want to play Versus, it loads closes the normal splinter cell game down to load the versus component of the game. Here's my problem. When it "shuts" down splinter cell to load versus, it doesn't do it properly. The computer doesn't close it properly, so versus can not load because of the already active program. |And when I close it in windows task manager, it closes the whole operation down. So I can't play versus which is ticking me off lol

Does anyone know why this happens? Or does anyone know how to directly launch to versus mode in splinter cell?

If you have any ideas or can point me in a direction of people to ask I'd appricated it.

This problem is usually caused by background programs. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and look at the bottom left-hand corner of the task manager. Windows XP is 20 Processes, Windows Vista is 40 Processes - depending on the program, a few extra processes is ok.

If Windows is the problem, you may want to reformat the hard drive. I usually reformat every year to keep Windows running smoothly. Over time, Windows files can become corrupt and will affect the speed of your PC.

I have bought SC - Chaos Theory for VISTA ULTIMATE x32 and it works PERFECT,without STARFORCE (<---- VIRUS)....I am using NO-DVD CRACK 1.5...

But I don´t know,which brightness and contrast settings should I set ? Which is the best settings ? (My game version is 1.5...)

And yeah..what is shader model 3.0...Should I set shader model 1.1 or 3.0 ? Which is better ?

And what about AntiAliasing ? If I set shader model 3.0,AntiAliasing is disabled...
