UbiSoft technical support told me that the following support request was a gameplay advice request and said they would not answer my questions... if anyone here could take a look I would appreciate it.
What follows is exactly what I sent to UbiSoft support (my references to attached documentation is not included in this post): Win XP SP2 Asus A8N-SLI Premium MoBo AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ Asus EN8800GT TOP/G/HTDP/512M Video Card 2 gigs Corsair DDR-400 (XMS-3200C2) Logitech G5 Mouse I've recently installed SCDA and updated with the v1.2 patch. I've attached my current DxDiag and SysInfo files; as well as a screen shot of the hardware detection tool that was installed with SCDA. For reference, this is a clean install of Windows XP SP2/Patches that was done less than a week ago. I've also installed the AMD dual core patches/optimizer. There are three questions in this support ticket: Question 1 of 3: When running the hardware detection tool it says I do not have a supported driver version (see screen shot). Why is this? I have the latest drivers installed from Nvidia. I hope you are not going to recommend uninstalling my current version and reverting back to an older version as this is not an option since I need the latest version for other applications installed. Question 2 of 3: When running the game, the zoom in/out does not work when using the zoom/scope mode (keypad: 1). The zoom just stays at 1.3 x's and the scrolling of the mouse up/down does nothing. However, the zooming of the mouse up/down works fine when increasing/deacreasing Sam's running/walking speed. How do I resolve this problem? Question 3 of 3: When hacking a computer and attempting to read an email, the mouse cursor is not present. When I move the mouse, it does not appear on the screen, but I can see when the mouse hovers over an email item as the email changes colors, though the mouse never appears. How do I resolve this problem? Cheers! ::k:: www.nCubed.com |

The best "gameplay" advice i can give you is to just uninstall the game and put the DVD on the shelf. This will save you much wasted time and many headaches.
As for the technical side, there are no solutions to the problems you have listed. As you may have noticed fro the reply from tech support, Ubisoft has stopped supporting this game. I honestly don't think they had ever started, |

I'm so disappointed in UbiSoft... I tried to install this game a year ago when I had a en7900gtx 512meg card and it never made it past the loading screen. UbiSoft support was worthless then... all they could say is re-install drivers.
A year later and the game has barely been patched and no one seems to be able to play the game reliably. I'm saddened that the Sam Fisher story is dying a slow death on the PC as a result of UbiSoft. This is the last UbiSoft will receive of my money. Period. Cheers! ::k:: www.nCubed.com |
