OK GUYS I HAVE THE FIX !!!!!!!! I LOVE UBISOFT AND THANK YOU GREG AT UBISOFT TECH. SUPPORT for this fix :

I am sending you a file named paul.zip. Within that zip file you will find a file named paul.dll. Extract this file and place a copy within the System directory.

Do this for both the Multiplayer and Single Player System folders.

Here is the file I loaded it to Fileplanet:

http://www.fileplanet.com/files/170000/170276.shtml

GUYS THIS WORKED FOR ME !!! THANK GOD !!! I PUT IT ON FILE PLANET FOR ALL OF YOU GUYS WHO HAVE THIS RARE PROBLEM TOO!!

This is confirmed, as it actually allowed me to "Activate" my game and type in my cdkey, as opposed to just playing it with a mini-image.

This might seem lika a really stupid question but how do the window that pops up after I've put the file in the folders actually work?
I tried to use the online space and where it said to input my serial number wrote the stuff on the little folder you get in the box but it didn't work (possibly because I'm behind router).
Which leaves me to the manual box which I don't understand how to use.
Thanks for any help Smile

...Why in the blazing hells would the downloadable version prompt you to insert a physical disc? Are you high?

I'm having the same problem! Argh!!! I get a product activation window that pops up and it asks for a serial number to activate online. The only thing I can think of entering is the key... That fails. It takes me to a securom website that says no CD in drive. I tried the 'paul.dll' file. No success. I downloaded the game, BTW.

Well now, that's a great attitude!

For your information, I just purchased and
DOWLOADED SCDA from Direct2Drive,
a downloadable version, and it kept asking me for the correct disk!

I do NOT know why, but the zip file linked in this thread DEFINITELY works for the Direct2Drive DOWNLOADABLE version.

Therefore I must say:

Just Shut The **** up if the problem can be fixed by a little help.

YOU must be high!!
Boy, you really are rude...

Errr - this doesn't patch the very many problems with this game. Tried this and a hundred other things, can't get the game to run.

I tried the patch. It started the box in which you need to fill in the serial code. After I entered the code it said the code failed or there was a server error. I have installed the second patch for the game.

Does anybody have a clue?

This is how i got the game going. Solution compiled from different posts on this forum, so hopefully it works for you and save you some damn time.

The errors i had: "MUST CHECK"-error message and "Wrong key" during "Product activation".

1. Multiplayer -

"paul.dll" got the cd started as far as the first menu, but i couldn't get past "Product Activation" because of " Wrong key "-error. (Waiting for a reply from the ubi-support on that one.)

2. Singleplayer -

I deleted the original desktop-shortcut and pasted a new one, linking to the singleplayer-start button found in the games singleplay systemfolder. And then i had to add the -II ending to it.

So my shortcut-link looks like this:

"F:\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent\SCDA-Offline\System\SplinterCell4.exe" -ll

Not sure if the last part is -LL or -ii or -11, since i pasted it from the post where i found it Smile

No "Product Activation" needed for singleplay.

I even got the multiplay menu going, but haven't tried it to see if it let me play.

My thanks to the Splinter Cell-community for the solution that worked for me.

Cheers!

What is this? It fixes ur disc? Well if u anything helpful for not making the game crash or any bugs, that will be great. I don't really need this because just get the no cd crack, that's what I did. Anyway, if it works out, then that's great!
