Edit: The game will sometimes randomly get passed the error, but then I'm presented with a screen saying I'm using a back up, oh the irony.

After using Multiplayer button just an "Unreal something" appears but nothing further happens.

I was up to the part were i have to get the captain, i turned off for the night and when i returned the next day this is what i got. game wouldnt load, tried "C:\Program Files\ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent\SCDA-Offline\System\SplinterCell4.exe" -ll as instructed, very reluctant to re-install, please help.

Hi, I found a way to play Single Player mode of Double Agent on Windows 2000 .

(Yes, it's not about DA, but it's the SAME problem here)

Unfortunatly it's german, but babelfish's translation was good enough:

- get xinput1_1.dll. (google is your friend!)
- open it with a hexeditor
- look for TraceMessage and replace it with GetUserNameA
- save! and put the modded file into Splinter Cell's "System" folder...

=> et vóilà!

(don't forget to add the -LL or -II!)

For those who using ReForce or other software to solve 60Hz problem for CRT monitors!!! Restore original settings! Single mode works only on 60HZ! I had just the same problem (must check)and now playing!

After getting sick of this ***MUST CHECK*** I had reinstalled my whole system.

Every Game I installed works fine...
SCDA excepted!!!!

There is still this ****ing message.
On the few first starts of the game, an other message told me there would be a prob with the "d3ddrv.dll". But before I had the chance to solve this problem there were the next

I've this error .. I'm Using GigaByte nVIDIA 7600GS .. with the latest driver and DirectX 10 and downloaded the game's update 1.02 .. but I've this Problem .. I wrote it in your SUPPORT section .. but i didn't take an answer from any body for almost a week .. WHAT is The Problem .. and What I've to do to make it work ??

Guys, I've got the same problem (must check). I've just tried the "-II" and actually haven't helped. I've also trie to do the same but with a small change. I wrote it with L (-ll) and recived a message like "Assertion failed: Linear [File:..\..\Core\Inc\FFileManagerLinearPackage.h][Line:1487]"
The next message was about my runtime error which made me surprised because some time before I installed the patch (with the ap in the game folder) and this plug-in from the microsoft (called WGA). I hope this information is helpful. I also hope the game will finally work... [sory if my english is poor- I'm polish]

I also have to say that I've got a Vista Home Premium 32-bit and parts: Core 2 Duo E6400, 2GB Ram 667Mhz, Radeon X1600 Pro (512 MB, 128 Bit.)

I installed on my PC with Windows XP and i updated with the updater of the same game. when i finished i tried to play to test it but when i run it and i click on SINGLE PLAYER it doesn't run it simply do nothing. please help i updated my video car i have a GeForce 7600GT it supposed to work with it

I haven't read the whole post, BUT the solution to the "must check" error is replacing the "xinput1_1.dll" file. You can download this file by going to http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xinput1_1
OR http://www.dll-files.com and do a search for any other missing file you need. After downloading file, 'BACKUP' the file your replacing (xinput1_1.dll). Extract the .dll file to the system32 folder. And there you go,this should work for you....it did for me!!!

Ohh! I'm disappointed a bit... I've just replaced the [xinput1_1.dll] file and still MUST CHECK then Runtime Error... Maby it's caused by the fact that I'm a Vista user.. Does anybody have some special solution especially for Vista?? Plz help me.. The bigger SC fan the bigger disappointment...

After these settings (splintercell4.ini) try to apply PhysX_2_5_1 driver(even if you do not have this type of hardware) from support folder,there`s no more ****ing "check message"

Hello everybody! I have few things to say. First: I've just got through the last mission on Double Agent and I don't have must check anymore. The "must check stopped to occure since I installed direct x 9.0c (it had problems during installation because I've got vista and direct 10 built in) and made a shortcut (I run the game by it) to offline/system/splintercell4 entering in the first line of properities the "_-ll and then.... It magically started to work ;D But there have to be sth wrong of course.. It sometimes carshes when loading, but through the first few missions I got without problems. I hope it will work for you too. Good luck!
