I recently obtained the game in a trilogy bundle of the first 3 games. I'm in Europe.
When I got to the CIA level, I discovered that whenever I use the thermal vision, the game just shuts down, and takes me back to the desktop. Unfortunately, the computer I'm at currently has only an intel chipset-integrated graphics card.
This, however, is no reason for the patches not installing. Whenever I try to do that, and yes, the patches are european, it tells me that the version isn't found, or something along those lines. Any ideas what I can do?

The Intel chipset gets overloaded when you turn on your thermal vision. It has to share memory with the rest of the system and I guess it takes more under thermal vision for calculations than other parts for some reason and it demands more than the system can provide. Patches won't help that issue- only a video card can.

The first game usually works better than the other two (less system demands) so you can expect more problems with the next two games- they might not work at all for you.

I have this same problem with my Intell card/
But I've managed to muddle through to the elevator that leads to that guy who is trying to kill hisself, which is the level just after the nuke trucks get blown up. This is SC1 and brings me to my delimma, I can't get further without the thermals unless someone was to give me the door codes I'll be needing Etc.. You wouldn't per chance know such a one, Would you ???
