Hi all.
I have A few issues with SCDA that I would like to adress in this topic, Yéah, A new topic, because I am plagued by multiple problems, and I am not going through 118 pages to post in random topics. So here's the deal: I downloaded and installed virtually everything to run the game, but I keep running into problems, heres A list: PROBLEM 1: My "Config --> Programs/software" screen informs me that I am running version 1.00.0. I downloaded the version 1.01 and 1.02 patches, installed both of them, via the internal update-application, and using Windows, But I either get the sacky notice that "Version of the game is higher then patch version" (WTF). Or, It installs, and installs, and finishes, But it still says: VERSION 1.00.0! Also tried running it with "Admin rights", Didn't work. PROBLEM 2: The Multiplayer/Online version keeps crashing on me! Everytime I boot up "Multiplayer" it reads the disc, It loads the app. and it starts up, Showing the "Created with Unreal technology", and the "always funny" "GAME-EXPERIENCE MAY CHANGE ONLINE" notice... And that's pretty much where it goes wrong. First A cursor appears, and then: BANG, BOOM, BASH! My screen turns black, then shows the desktop (30303 times in A row, jeez) and then I get the following error: "SCDA does not function, and must be terminated"(Something like that) I don't know the real deal, but I would however, want to be able to run the darn game like I should, My system specs are well above minimum! _________________________________ Windows Vista Home (Premium) INTEL DUO CORE2 4400 (2.00Ghz) 2.00GB RAM 320GB Hard Disk DirectX9.0C (AT THE MOMENT 10.1) Nvidia Geforce 8600GT (256MB) ____________________________________ Furthermore, I encounterd A new problem, just moments ago: PROBLEM 3: At the start, If I would change my in-game (Display) settings, It would always switch back to "Next gen" (HA!HA!) Now after A reinstall, that was fixed, and my customized settings finally held, and showed to. But, after some more fiddling with patches, Windows keeps playing with my bloodpressure: Everytime (current time) I run the game, and use CUSTOM display settings, my game crashes on me, stating the next things: 1) "Runtime error 3 [Bla bla bla, do the math yourself]" 2) "[Nvidia {Bla bla} driver] has encountered an error, and is going to reboot soon" Also, A friend of mine explained this same stuff on the "Crysis" forums, when someone said.... so:
1) I checked: 60Hz = Default 2) Someone explain WTF he means by that? I would apreciate any, if all help that may sound the slightest bit helpful. PS: I heard that It could be A problem with capabillity between either VISTA, and SCDA, Or SCDA, and my Graphics card (8600GT) PS2: DO NOT, I REPEAT: DO NOT TELL ME TO RE-INSTALL! Because I lost count. "You can talk the talk... But can you walk the walk?" |

Sorry, but your video card is too new.
Nvidia has released drivers that deal with some of the problems with DA and 8800s, but you will need to check and see if they deal with some DA problems and 8600s. Also, check the executable itself to see if it is 1.02 or not. Don't just check the programs thing. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

The executable file won't show A version number, it's A blank field.
And about the card: Are there going to be any updates for that, Or am I just simply screwed? "You can talk the talk... But can you walk the walk?" |

Ubi is done supporting DA for PC.
Nvidia is your best bet for updates that will make it work for your card. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

OMG, That's frikking bullcrap, honestly. With THIS MUCH complaints, and people having problems with DA on PC, they're not going to go on with it? Even though I heard that Ubi was developing new patches to fix it? Wow, Ubi just went down another mile on my "fav-o-meter" "You can talk the talk... But can you walk the walk?" |

Ah well, screw it, I got my answer, and A friend of mine (Intern @ Nvidia) is going to check if he can help.

The game requirements do say 3gig P4 You are only at 2 gigs although it's not a P4 They don't list speed requirements for dual core only saying it's "optimized" whatever that means. Maybe you should spank that puppy and OC it a bit to see if it resolves any of your issues.
used mobo, referb'd GPU, cheap ram, slow CPU, and a kid with all the good stuff! sigh... |

It's NOT his processor. It's his video card that is causing the troubles.
His processor is WELL BEYOND the requirements for the game. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

lol it's pretty funny. Everyone always whining about their fairly new card not being able to play the newest games. Now we have issues with backward compatability? Sorry your $500 card is too good for that game! I mean really WTF is that all about? Sorry Sam Fishy. Wanna trade straight across for my 7800GT? Oh wait, it's an 8600. Never mind. Maybe someone needs to come up with a mixed sli solution. Two different cards so you can switch down to play the older games.
