Yeah...the first part of that cartoon has that same little character riding the opposite direction, holding his sword in the air, yelling "Holy War!!!"

Arthenon....your shots on this site are amazing. It seems that lighting is a universal enemy of aircraft photographers, which is part of the reason why i switched mainly to photographing chicks (plus its really alot more fun-have a whole series of the ones in my sig).
I try to keep recording history in mind, as ive gotten shots of many planes that have been destroyed in accidents or just scrapped (like the B-52Gs-that was brilliant). I keep seeing stuff like this thread about planes ive photographed during the 80s and early 90s. I missed a chance to get a shot of the first mig killer wiht an AMRAAM (aim-120). It was an F-16D that nailed one (mig-23 I think) in the no fly zone over Iraq (the airshow was in 96).I had only taken my Minolta 3XI that day because the T-90 was in teh shop, and both my lithium batteries were dead. My lousy Soni cam corder wouldnt function either (i hate soni). Missed my only chance to get a shot of an F-117 in flgiht making a great photo pass. There were no lithium camera bats on sale at any of the vendors (my T-90 uses AA bats), so I was limited to a stupid disposable camera....not too great for flying displays, though i did get some shots of Steve Ritchie as he taxied a T-38 past and was walking around talking to people. Got a couple of Col. Bob Scott (God is my co-pilot) standing wiht the T-birds at warner robbins AFB 9near his home of macon-he also ran the huge museum at the base). I go nuts wiht cameras sometimes, wanting to record everything, always afraid ill miss something. I went to every military display i could after the gulf war, and got shots of all i could. Ive got thousands of slides, boxes full of them and negatives (when id run out of slide film). At shows like Harlingen Tx, I managed to discipline myself to about 30 rolls of 36 exp 400 agfachrome and fujichrome a day, for 3 days.I kept those guys in bsness. Just gotta get some more modern digital equipment like the D-20 to do aircraft shots. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |
