Apparently the Next generation Fighter, seems to be multirole.
It's a prototype model, half the original size.
So that's what the next Sukhoi is going to look like.It must be a Sukhoi, according to the design which is similar to the Berkut
Does anybody know anything about those shots

That's a friggin' sexy plane. Best of luck to them though in the funding department. "No bucks, no Buck Rodgers."

Oh...BTW...if we're seeing it here, chances are that's nothing like what the real thing will look like. Those are probably just concept sculptures.

I don't think those are recent photos, jusdging by the photo quality and hair styles and clothing of the officials. I'd place these photos at circa 1990/1989. These look like the S-37 concepts and not the MFI.
How's the progress of the PAK-FA program? Or will they upgrade the Mig-29 until it has a cloaking device?

EDIT: just looked into the T-50, and this could very well be the first model of the T-50, I guess this photo was taken with a cell phone, and the officials look that way because Russia wants to revive the Soviet times again. (or the hangar has no heating)

They might not be recent photos, but, holy cow Force, you can see clothing and hairstyle details in that photo? Look at that menacing guy off by himself. FSB maybe?

He tries to stay hidden Razz Like that game developer geek from Grandma'a Boy Razz

But because the photo looks like cr*p I'd say it's from the 90-ies, or taken with a mobile phone.

That's probably true...I doubt we'd see that picture if it were something recent. Remember how word of the F-117 first leaked to the public? One of the engineers snuck some plans home with him to try and impress his GF. They must have had a bad break-up later, because she eventually turned him in to the FBI.

i dunno, that wide of a wingspan might have heavy drag for a fighter. but it just looks like they fused the canard and the swept-forwards wing together. I dunno why though, the swept forward wing design is pretty good at maneuver at high altitudes IIRC. Anyway, just my 2 cents, this might be a design for a bomber version of the berkut. Remember the design of the F-22B where the wings were extended to provide more lift.

Lol, yeh really. How many other projects have we seen die because of lack of funding? How about the MiG 1.42 project?

The JSF, errm, Yak-141 Razz

Had some great site with lots of MFI concept drawings on it, ranging from a f-22 clone to the ones in the first photo.

Can you see the S-37? Cause that's what they are. With the vertical stabilizers canted inwards.

I kind of thought that's what they looked like but I wasn't 100% sure. Thumbs Up

Anyone else think this resembles the YF-23 in a way? Remember when the USAF had the YA-9 but bought the A-10 instead? Russia designed the SU-25 based on the YA-9. This could be something of the same.

Yeah, it looks like a wind-tunnel model of a re-winged S-37; the diamond-planform wings do resemble that of the YF-23.

I wouldn't draw any great conclusion from these photos - they're just going through one of the aerodynamic design iterations which may not result in a fighter. Given it's resemblence to the S-37 fuselage (notice the scale of the cockpit with respect to the rest of the aircraft and compare that with the original flying S-37 to get an overall size) you are looking at a model that does seem pretty much the same size as a re-winged S-37. And, from what I remember, Russia doesn't have the capital to make an next-gen aircraft of that size. Most likely this is either a pre-S-37 wind tunnel model before they settled on the FSW configuration, or a bit of post-S-37 research. Hard to tell without dates on that photo.

My 2 pence.

Russias 4rth gen fighter is likely to be in the same class as the F-35 in size and weight, but bear in mind that I do not atribute equivalent capabilities as well since it simply doesnt exist yet.

???? Waite a sec.... PHOTOSHOP!!!!! Don't you see it, The wing edges are very smooth and strange pixel behaviour in that area were the berkut has no wings, while this one has some. THIS must be definitly a fake, just some berkut models, nothing else.
This would also explain the old fashioned hairstyle and clothes... somehow...

BUT here have a look at this ones, nice stealth concepts by Sukhoi

You're right, this is a fake. I oubted something with such wings could be controlled by such small elevators.

Yeah, looks like someone "added" YF-23 wings to a Berkut. Also, the one on the right looks like it was also completely matted in; the dude on the left looks like he's actually in the aircraft! And the wing overlap looks funny. And, yes, now that you mention it, you can see the outline of the Su-37. Russians messing with our heads again? Looks like a big piece of "disinformation" to me . . .
