The mica is a bit too short ranged for a BVR fight with the big boys. BTW, France will arm it's Rafales with the Meteor missile from the F3 or F4 standard due in 2008 and 2012. Along with a full AESA which the Eurofighter T3s should also have by then.

Official estimates say the PS-05 can pick up fightersized targets at around 120km. But if that's not enough it can always use the Erieye's 500km+ radar to track and destroy its target.  We'll see what the NORA will be capable of in the future.
