why a suprise its suppost to be smaller and cheaper it has only one engine so would be very under powered if it was of the same size

Looks like Martin Baker nicked the headrest design from the K-36D 3.5L. Those canopy breakers look a lot like those on the yak-130 seats as well. Let's hope for the F-35 pilots they managed to copy the K-36 performance too.

No it does not. People assume wrongly fighter size is directly related with manueverablity wich is one of the biggest mistakes you can ever make just by looking at them.
I have footage on F-15's confortably beating up F-5 tigers in knife fights and chasing after F-16's.
The F-22 will probably still top the F-35 on manueverability. Its is packed with more power, larger sustainable surfaces compared to the body and TVC. Its thrust to weight is also better, even though that will equaly crush your body on either fighter you would ever choose to fly in.

They are assembled in Ft. Worth in their mile long facility along with the F-16's. I got to visit the plant a year and a half ago or so and saw them building AA-1. It was pretty freakin awesome. They way they build it is pretty amazing. I won't (and don't think I can) go into detail As for the cockpit, the picture of the simulator on that one website is the most you're going to see of it, at least for a while. It's pretty damn revolutionary, and the helmet mounted display has some neat tricks up its sleeve. I hope to be in the 35's cockpit in a few years
Yeah I tried to get a job fabricating parts for the JSF program in the Ft Worth plant. I had "inside" connections, but too bad she didnt have anything to do with hiring noobs like me. They were lookin for anyone with any amount of experience, they just picked the cream of the crop with that aircraft. I was just a lowly engineering mechanic.

IKing, that is true ut I'd rather have a Tomcat 21 with a uber late flight AiM-54X Phoenix than an Lightning II (?) with the mad dog in a meat locker Aim-120 AMRAAM. although the AMRAAM is a pretty damn good missile. (eons ahead of the Sparrow).
