I was just wondring if ayone else has sen the new History Channel show 'Dogfights'? It's pretty darn intrsting IMO. They use computr graphics to show a visual representation of all kinds of dogfights. The first episode was on the MiG-15/F-86 Sabrejet furballs over 'MiG Alley'.

Last friday's show was about BGen Ritchi's Third, Fourth, and Fifth MiG-21 kils ovr Hanoi. I wish they'd do a show about Cunningham's kills. even though he is in the big house, It still would be an interesting episode. Maybe they could solicit stories from other dogfight victors from around the world. I especially want to hear about Captain Astor Tolussa's MiG-29 kill during the 1998-2000 Eritreia-Ethopia war. So far she's the only female pilot of the modern age to shot down and enemy fighter (her own old flight instructor no less). Reports are that she was piloting a Flanker when she shot down the Fulcrum. Hell, I'd love to hear the story in her own words.

They have a show on Cunningham/Driscoll. It wasn't on the "Dogfight" show in title, but was basically the same thing. I have seen it on both the History Channel and The Military Channel. If I can find the series' title I will post it. It just talks about him killing that guy Tomb and then getting blasted by a SAM. Fun stuff.

Too bad he was syphoning money out of the DOD. Gives Republicans a bad name.. Big Grin

There was a show the History Channel aired several months ago, and I think it was the inspiration for this series. It discussed a few different dogfights throughout history (including the Cunningham/Driscoll fight), and was supposed to be a one-off show, but I guess it was popular enough that they decided to turn it into a series. It had basically the same format, but less detail for each fight.

I bought the DVD, but I'm not at home right now so I can't tell you the title - I'll check later and post it.

Here's a link to the History Channel site where you can order the DVDs. I think the first one is the one I have at home with the Cunningham/Driscoll fight, along with some from WWII and WWI, if I remember right.

Sweeeeet!!! thanks Arthonon. Maybe th crators should find a way to talk to fighter pilots from other countries. I woud love to hear about the Iranian Tomcat drivers who took on Iraqi Foxbats in the Iran-Iraq war. I believe that those kills would be great footage for 'Dogfights'

Great show, but in terms of naration, the sho goes awfully slow! it's an hour show that could be condensed into a half hour one. Just my opinion. they alsopoint out very obvious things. maby it's just to appeal to those idiots in this world. (who don't know a thing about air combat Confused)

Dogfights is a great show. I wish they would do one about the Eagle's kills.

Tehy recently did an episode about the kills made by IAF Eagle drivers. It was pretty interesting. I'd still like them to do the eps about the four Tomcat kill sof Libian fighters during the eighties. That would be pretty awesome in my opinion.
