I recently read a short article on the development of the F-18 superhornet:

"....A problem was encountered with "wing drop" during test and evaluation, which caused Secretary of Defense William Cohen to threaten to suspend further funding of the project unless it was fixed. However, the addition of a porous wing-fold fairing seems to have fixed the problem...."

Being a GA pilot I am familiar with an aircrafts tendancy to wing drop during a stall condition. My question is what is a "porous wing-fold fairing"....???? Can anyone show me a picture??
