Okay, what am I doing wrong... I have 4 pairs of subterranean gates, and have grouped them #1 for the first pair, #2 for the second pair, and so on. I can't seem to find any reference to the grouping of gates in pdf files.

And what is your problem? Some gates do not work or are you just interested in reading about gate grouping and cannot find literature? IF you have a problem with non-functioning gates despite having grouped them properly make sure they are not blocked (removable items like border guards are blocks even when removed in game). Secondly, you may try other group numbers e.g. rename group #4 to group #7463.

thanks for your help... You were right, it was as simple as having one gate blocked by a root...
