Those photos you posted were absolutely stunning! I knew you could change the look, but I didn't realize you could make it look that good. I especially loved the Black Dragons flying overhead. That is amazing! |

Then just download the map and see the nocturne combat, I love it The dragons flying are good, but unfortunately I couldn't use the move animation. It looked GREAT with that animation, but had an annoying effect. If someone who knows about anims could take a look at what I wrote about the problem and could give me a hint or two about what the parameters of the animations are, perhaps we could fix it. By the way, I've just found that you can use your own music for the adventure map, and it's great |

Can you tell me more? I know that you can create a new .music file in which you sac where your music is located, but it didn't work when i tried. So, please tell me how to do it (if my partition [with heroes and the editor] wouldn't have been corrupted (i needed to format it Thanks |

I got the idea from the map Double Futa by EvilP that mentioned Pitsu in the thread (very interesting by the way). You have to use a custom hero and edit the AdventureMusic field of his properties. There you can set the file, and you'll just have to add it to your h5m file (adding it with winzip or winrar). You have to set the right folder structure. You'll have the same adventure music for all the map, no matter the terrain or the heroe selected, but at least is something. What I don't know is what would happen if you customize 2 heroes with different music.
A shame, I would have loved to see it. |

I think there is a bug in your map:
You changed the Learning Stone to look like an Obelisk in your map. But when I load a different map and your map is still in the Maps-folder, all Learning Stones there also look like an Obelisk. (Tested with Two Coast) So the game uses the changed files from the Map even when you play a different map I think. |

Yes I've noticed that not long ago. The thing is, that you must not modify the original objets but create new ones. Otherwise the modifications will affect every map you play, if the map is in the game map folder (if you remove it, everything is back to normal however). So mostly everything can be changed without affecting the rest of maps, but the ambient lights for towns and combat there's no other way to change them than to modify those original objects, so if you have the map in the map folder, it will affect the rest of maps. Just try to load a map with sand terrain, and play with academy, while my map is in the map folder. Enter the academy and you will see the nocturne ambientlight. Enter a battle and it will be night again. So the "modding" is not so clean as I guessed at first, but anyway it could be used for certain maps warning first that it will affect the rest. |

About the music. Adding your own music as I described before, doesn't seem to work as I thought. Looks like the music you add doesn't sound always, but sometimes it just plays the original terrain music. Besides it doesn't work if you add it to your map file, but you have to copy it in your instalation directory |

You should read the Map Editor Manuals. They will provide some basics to get you started. Since the files were so large, I emailed them to work and printed them.
Download the latest patch and read the thread that Myythryyn created about the new patch that removes Arena items and such. Follow the link he has in his first post, it will tell you how to keep the old items and there is a neat suggestion to edit the editor.cfg file (Located in the Profiles folder of HOMM5). Use Note-pad to open the file and change line 5 from setvar map_editor_mode = 1 to setvar map_editor_mode = 9 Then save. Make sure that your Map Editor is closed when you make these changes. When you open your map editor up, there will be a mess of new tools to use. It works somewhat like the Editor did in Heroes III, but you can mold the terrain, rotate objects, and it requires knowledge about scripting. I know I will be coming here to pick everyone's brains about scripting because that is something I have no experience at. I can create some beautiful maps, but have no idea how to get things to act the way I want. |
