I had the same problem as u, that at first it responded straight off the mark â€" but the more I used it the worse it got. So first I run ALL the training and then bought a better head set microphone. One with foam around the mic. I think the foam stops the problem with breathing, and I only have the mic on when I give a command. Changed the odd command to be more specific. And I always turn the mic off when not in use around the home. Works much better now. Remember if your mic is a couple of years old â€"its time to upgrade for better technology â€" you will see a vast improvement in accuracy. I have 3 mic’s s now, and every time I get another one I notice small improvements.

Happy hunting

If it can be done you will be thank by thousands of SH III fans.

Opps, sorry been awhile since Ive been about, Looks like mike_j_parry has covered the problem though.

Happy hunting Smile

Hi all Smile

If anyone is interested, I've put together a little profile, which is available at the link below, or at Subsim.com. The current version, 2.31, contains 2 profiles; one for users that have the resolution fix (dead keys are remapped) and one for everyone else. The profile has, I can't remember, some 450+ ways to activate 154 different functions. The profile comes with full documentation in MSWord format. This one has been floating around at Subsim.com for awhile, but maybe folks over here would like to have a look too.

Anyways, just click the link under the sig to go to the page. Smile

Good Hunting!

I'm having two problems, if I leave the send box unchecked it will recognize the commands pretty good but it wont work in the game naturally, but If I check it it won't issue the correct command mostly and if it does work it has a hellasious delay on it that makes it worthless.I tried making a custon dictanary for each command and did two of the training sesions but it didnt change anything.
Thanks

Cavalier889 i was hoping that you might be able to help with a small problem seeing you have had experience editing the commands.cfg file in SH3.

Problem is chatting during MP, if your not carefull you can end up firing a salvo of torpedos. We must surly be able to rem this command out and still be able to fire using the mouse only. I do use voice commands but not when i play online. I have cut and pasted the commands below from SH3, any ideas on what to do!!.

Cheers

[Cmd313]
Name=Fire_torpedo
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x0D,,"Enter"

Greetings everybody! I'm not sure if anyone even checks this thread anymore but I'd like to know if there is a voice command script that has all the kinks worked out as well as virtually bug free? I never even knew voice commands were available! I'm just dying to use this but the previous posts has different things added here and there...changed this or whatever along with some issue or another. I'd be very grateful for the info. Smile

I'm using cavalier's profile and it's not working out well at all. I have to repeat myself over and over and usually it never recognizes what I said or it does the wrong thing...

I did all the training excercises and adjusted my headset and all that. It's a good headset too, $40 Altec Lansing hs515.

I'm just going to give up on this unless someone knows why it's screwing up.

Thanks Viper for your input...There are a few of us who are very interested in using this feature as a part of our immersion in to the game. If anybody else out there has tinkered with the settings/cfg's to make this a more usable/enjoyable addition to SH3 please post. Know that there are Kaleuns in need! Smile

Someone mentioned something about using a different language with shoot and the MS speech engine. Well I think it will understand German if phonetics are used. I admit that you need a good understanding of English and German but here is a sample of 3 commands that work, I am sure that they can all be done this way.

<command name="Periscope Depth" phrase="Zearoarteefe">
<key type="p" />
</command>
<command name="Surface the Boat" phrase="auftauchen">
<key type="s" />
</command>
<command name="Ahead Slow" phrase="langsumfahrt">
<key type="1" />
</command>

What we need to do is substitute german sounds with their english couterparts. The periscope is a "rohr". In english the same pronunciation would be "roar" and depth is "tiefe" which in english sounds like "teefe". This the MS speech engine understands very well.
