I guess love makes him blind, causing his spidey senses to malfunction. That's why he got attacked when he wanted to carry Jade away. Veryhappy

In relpy Thiendrah, as a Jeshashi-Sorl or Furion, whichever you want to call them Sev is naturally smarter than an average human. The race genetically modified their offpsrig o become the perfect warrior: stronger, faster, smarter than any other race. However they do have some drawbacks in the thinking department:
1. They seek honour and there is great dishoour in retreating from a battle that one can win
2. They are warriors and as such even though they have a higher IQ than humans it is all directed towards battle tactics and outsmrtig the enemy. Not nescesarilly common sense.
Also Sev cares more for Jade's life than his own as is illustrated in the tale of Caius and Erusha, which I will mention sometime in the story. You'll have to wait to find out who Caius and Erusha were.

OK. Have you any idea how annoying it is when you do that? You give a hint and won't tell any more.

That's what I love about Sev: he's annoying in his brilliance to reveal just enough to make you curious. Nothing more, nothing less.

Here's a hint, the Tale of Caius and Erusha almost mirrors Sev and Jade's story (read: doomed love), its sort of based o Romeo and Juliet. Anyway my latest plot twist is my best so far, at least according to me. Here's a clue

“Excellent, tell the General that the Jeshashi is dead and we have Shauni and Jade”

“Yes sir, relaying now”

“This is a glorious day for the DomZ”

“I heard the General has his own plans as to what to do with girl”

“Yeah, I’ll bet he’s got his own plans for what to do with her, or more likely to her”

“Hope he doesn’t keep her all to himself”

Their laughter was the last thing Sev heard as he faded away, drifting into black. Funnily his only regret was that…

…“He’s coming to” A male gravely Texan accent said, suggesting many years of living in an environment with unclean air.

“What’s his status?” A second voice said, this one much younger, female with a soft British accent vaguely similar to one Severus Caravera, but with out the gravely growl.

“He should be fine, if the nanobots have done there work, and the should, I bought them off an Mtek rep who was visiting the ‘Port to try and sell his stuff”

“He’s waking up” the woman said, excitement in her voice.

Sev’s eyes flickered open, it was immediately obvious that he’d been knocked out and taken somewhere, His head was pounding worse than the hangover he’d had on Jalbashi’s World when he downed five pints of Laram whiskey. Just the thought of it made his head hurt even more. As his vision cleared he could make out two figures standing over the soft bed he was lying on. As his vision cleared some more he was able to identify them, he nearly lost consciousness again when he did: it was his little sister Allyshia, waist length blonde hair hanging in a long plait and clad in tight fitting brown leather. The other one was someone he never expected to see again: the self-centred, arrogant doctor Avarice. Sev moaned and tried to sit up and his head spun, he crashed back to the bed.

“Don’t move Sev, you’re still recovering” Ally said in a soothing voice. She tried to appear calm, confident that her brother would survive. Sev had shrugged off wounds that would kill a normal human before, back when they had been fighting small skirmishes as teenagers. But this was worse, his right arm and both legs were shattered, his rib plate cracked, shards of bone in his lungs and heart and a fractured skull.

“Where’s Jade?” Sev moaned.

“I can answer that one” Avarice spoke up, mhe looked pretty much the same, a diminutive Texan whose lungs were ruined from living years on Hellport Station. His oily hair was longer and he was clad in a white shirt, black leather vest and jeans. Sev could see the hilt of a short sword under his vest. “I’m afraid she was scheduled for execution. They blasted her out an airlock, her body hasn’t been recovered”

“No!” Sev shouted, his vision clouded over again and all he saw was black.

Ally watched the unconscious form of her older brother as Avarice checked him over.

“Frag!” he swore.

“What is it?” Ally asked.

“He’s in a coma” At that moment there was a bright flash, when Avarice’s vision had returned he noticed one thing: Sev was gone, where his body lay there was now nothing.

Sev awoke in a strange world, one that could not possibly be real he was lying on the floor clad in a white, close-fitting robe that was tied at his waist by a wide green sash. He immediately reached for his sword but it was gone, he looked around for a weapon while surveying the surrounding area. It was like he was standing in a scale model of the universe, floating around him in a seemingly limitless void were thousands of different shaped galaxies, all perfect scale models of the real things. All of them were spinning languidly as Sev started moving, he felt almost as if he was underwater, the air seemed to be resisting his movement just like pushing through water did. Then Sev noticed another fact that confirmed his suspicions about this otherworldly place: again, like in water his chin length hair was floating about. He glanced backward and his hair followed the movement, behind time such that he could see the retreating cluster of spikes out of the corner of his eye. Sev looked back and saw a marble alter ahead of him floating in the void; it was rocking slightly as if he and it were standing on water. He walked towards it looking down at his feet; they were leaving ripples in the surface he was walking on like he was stepping on liquid, but it seemed to be holding his weight. Sev made it to the alter and discovered the fate of his sword: it sat upon the alter but as Sev reached for it a blast of light from the inky blackness above him hit the sword. The sword shot up into the beam and hung at eye height. It began to change from a Dai-Katana, the blade curved more and more and widened, the hilt lengthened and curved. The wolf head on the guard grew, to Sev it began to resemble a human sword called a Shamshir. A blackened hand reached from the darkness behind the beam and took the sword. Sev’s shadowy clone stepped out, seemingly materializing from the darkness that pervaded the dreamlike world.

“An interesting blade, you knew this was going to happen, your own corruption took this blade” the shadow said.

“Two questions, number one I want your name so I know who I’m going to kill, number two what the frag are you talking about?” Sev growled, as his shadow began to walk towards him Sev moved back, circling the alter.

“You should know who I am, I am you, but if you need a name you can call me your Shadow” it replied, Sev noticed its black robe, losse rags and hair were also floating. “in answer to your second question: we are in a Nether Realm, a realm where everything takes on physical form. That alter is where you will make your sacrifice for your own selfish needs. You will give away everything that makes you and your hate, your fear; your every selfish act will corrupt you utterly. This is just the beginning, soon you will change, become everything that you hate, and then you will embrace it. Embrace the shadow Severus”

Sev narrowed his emerald eyes “Go to hell, oh and give me back my sword first”

“My pleasure” To Sev’s great surprise his Shadow spun the sword and handed it hilt-first to Sev. He took it and spun the weapon what little psycho-karmic power he had sensing a new, darker power within the blade.

“Do you feel that power, that taint, you lust after it don’t you?”

“If this sword truly holds the power you say it does you just signed your own death certificate” Sev growled.

“It’s happening already, give in to your hate Sev, let the loving embrace of the shadow envelop you”

“No, I’m going to kill you so you can’t…”

“Kill the people you love?” the Shadow cut in “Ha! Think to yourself, do you really give a frag if that little DomZ ***** lives or dies?” the Shadow laughed cruelly “You hate the DomZ Sev, they killed your race. The Jeshashi-Sorl are no more because of them. And Jade, Jade is their idol they worship her, she is the DomZ queen!” the Shadow snapped.

“Die!” Sev roared, he swung like lightning, so fast that the light reflected by the shamshir’s blade left a glowing trail in midair. This time his doppelanger wasn’t so fast as before, it ducked but not fast enough to receive a deep cut in the arm that bled bluish blood.

“That’s right Sev, give in to your anger, let it feed you, become one with it” the Shadow said as it stood, then the wound in its arm healed over, not even leaving a scar on its blackened skin. “Now we see whether you have learned from our past four encounters”

Sev back away, bringing Shenrothshi, now looking definitely like a shamshir but with a less radical angle in the blade, up in a defensive stance. This time he wouldn’t let Shadow trick him; Sev breathed slowly and quietly trying to calm himself. It was trying to trick him, trying to make him angry so he would slip up. ‘I don’t make mistakes’ Sev thought, where had which come from?

“Put your weapon away Severus, I am not here to fight you” The Shadow snarled “You really are a fool, I am trying to help you, listen to me” The Shadow had no weapon, no on his back or at his waist. He was completely unarmed, trying to win Sev’s trust so he wouldn’t screw things up anymore than he already had. “I am not armed, I came here with no intention of fighting you”

Slowly Sev lowered the shamshir to his side, well if this was a mirror of him then knew that no warrior would strike down an unarmed opponent. “Alright, what do you want to tell me?”

The Shadow began to speak, telling Sev how he had watched everything go wrong, how back when he had been hired two years ago and met Jade it should have never happened. How despite the fact that they may be happy together, as long as it was that way the universe could never be a peace. The DomZ were searching for Jade and they would tear the galaxy apart to find her, that was why the old pig Pey’j had taken her to Hillys. The war would never be over until the DomZ found her and that would be the end of everything. With Sev so determined to protect her, the DomZ would never find her and they would consume the galaxy. The Commonwealth had fought the DomZ to a bloody stalemate but they couldn’t match the reproduction rates the DomZ had or the hive-minded creature’s disregard for their own lives. “They are the perfect soldiers, they know no fear, no pain, no hunger, no thirst, I’ve seen seen them take full magazines from Assault Rifles and keep going. They are perfectly evolved killing machines” Sev’s horror compounded as he heard what Shadow said “There is only one solution: to give the DomZ their idol and hope they don’t find a way to turn her against us”

“No fraggin’ way in hell” Sev growled, the last thing he would do was turn Jade over no he DomZ, he would die first.

“There is another way, one you won’t like but it could work” Shadow disliked this idea but if it could somehow save Jade…

“I’m listening” Sev said, still not trusting this creature.

“The universe exists in many forms, it is complicated to explain but I believe I could take us, yes us, to a form of alternate universe, one where you had never met Jade” This was the only choice now, he wouldn’t let Sev screw this up. As Sev opened his mouth to speak Shadow snapped his fingers. A cage of energy shot up around Sev. He bashed at the cage futilely, like that was going to work, Sev got nothing for his efforts except a painful shock.

“You bastard let me out!” Sev roared.

“No, I’m coming in” with that Shadow dissolved into a black cloud that shot straight at Sev, the next moment pain erupted down his left side and his jacket and shirt were burned away. It gave Sev a front row view of a swirling black tattoo that burned itself onto his skin, covering his entire left arm, the left side of his chest and ribs. The pattern looked vaguely like Jeshashi ritual tattoos or Earth Maori tribal symbols. The same pain erupted I his head, burning away the tattoo o his cheek and setting his brain on fire. Then the world went black…

“He will know your past but you will not. It is up to him to show you, he will treat you cruelly and with disregard for he is corrupted. Drive out the corruption and he will show you the truth He is a mercenary, Severus Angelo Caravera is his name, you will fall in love with him, but you must not let him know. Do not give in to your feelings, harden your heart.”

…Etheria watched over both the events, it was all proceeding to plan, It made her feel slightly guilty to destroy Sev and Jade, but it had to be done. Jade’s feelings for Sev blocked her Pyscho-Karmic powers, and that could not happen…

Redux
“Take the pain away
Take the dagger from my heart
Stop me from bleeding out
Take my hand
Redux”
-Redux, a poem by famous poet Jeshashi poet Javilus Alteros

HILLYS-Seaview-Akuda Bar-2437
Sev awoke with a start to find the bartender Mo mopping up the floor. He stretched and the movement caught the Bull’s eye.

“Hey! Were closed so get out, unless you got a room that is” The Bull snapped, then returned to his mopping.

Sev stood, stretched again and then hit the stairs without a word. He fished around in his pocket and pulled out a small card with his room code on it. He punched in the code and stepped into the small room. It was little more than a small bed and a wooden table with two bottles of empty Vodka lying on it. Sev yawned and in that moment it all came back. Suddenly a rush of memories flowed through him as he saw everything. From the first time he had laid eyes on Jade in her prison cell to just moments ago, or was it really moments ago? Sev looked at his watch,
10:45.
It was real late; maybe that was why he hadn’t remembered, but what year was it? Another quick glance at his watch solved that:
2-4-2437
But that meant that everythin that had happened two years ago…

“No Severus, It has not happened and never did, let me fill you in on our shared history. You arrived on Hillys just this morning; you had hyperlag and fell asleep in your little lonely corner. The DomZ have captured jade for the past two years. Hillys is still under Alpha Section control and the resistance can’t do jack about it”

Another flood of memories, Shadow, the mysterious dream world, why he had come to this alternate reality he had been forced!

“Don’t try getting angry with me Severus, you’re fate has already been changed. By becoming one with me you have become someone entirely different. You have absorbed my personality ito your own”

Sev decided to test that theory, something he knew only he would know about. Jade, ‘DomZ *****, she lied to me, she’s one of them! One of the creatures that destroyed my race! Why do I feel this way, I have every right to hate her?!’ Where did that come from? From a love that he would die for to such hatred, no way this was seriously fragged up. Sev lay back on his bed…

…The morning found him sitting on the docks of Seaview, watching the local fishermen swarm over their trawlers and making ready for sail. The morning mist obscured much of the view but not the oily smell of the docks. Sev watched as one by one, the crew set sail to spend their days out on the bountiful waters that surrounded the island. He heard someone approaching him and stood. It was a slim man in a thick greatcoat and beanie, as he approached Sev noted that he had green eyes and short black hair. It reminded him of Jade and sent a pang through his heart.

“You Sev?” Nino asked. ‘This better be the guy everyone was talking about’ he thought.

“Who wants to know?” Sev replied he realized he’d given a yes answer without knowing.

“My organization…” Nino began

“I know who your organization is Nino, I know all about IRIS” Sev interrupted
“Take this mission Severus, take it do not turn away!”
“Screw you I go my own way”
“You fragbait Severus, you must take this mission, you must find Jade!”
“Didn’t you say…”
“I said you must not let her see your true feelings, but you msut find her and guard her until the time is right!”
“What time, start talking fragbait!”
“Not now, I will explain later”

“I hope you’ve been reading the news, have you heard of a reporter called Jade, who recently vanished?” Nino asked, trying not to voice his own fears over where Jade was. She was an invaluable asset to IRIS and a good friend.

“Yeah I heard of her,” Sev said shortly, still staring out over the docks.

“She was caputered by the DomZ and was taken to a planet they infested, we need you to rescue her, this PDA should provide you with all the info you need: With that Nino took a small PDA from his jacket and handed it to Sev who took it without speaking.

“Oh by the way you’ll be working with one of our people on this, he may decide to tell you his name or not. If he doesn’t, call him Double H.”

“Whatever”

“Whera are you docked?”

“The Spaceport, Bay 4”

“Right then.” Without another word, ino turned from the docks and left Sev standing still, scowling at where Nino had just disappeared.

SAHARA-Atrox Base
The next two days passed like someone had hit fast forward on a tape. Before Sev knew it he found himself an entirely different person, as if Shadow was slowly becoming more and more absorbed, he could no longer tell where he ended and Shadow began. He was more arrogant and angry, more self centred and rude, he didn’t like it. He was anoble who was supposed to be a guide for people who would look up to him. ‘A noble to a dead court’ Sev reflected bitterly, whichever way he looked at it, the Jeshashi were dead. He had no more obligations to his old way of life anymore.
A clawed fist whistling past Sev’s ear brought him sharply back to reality. Putting his personality crisis aside he ducked and sliced upwards, cutting the lizard like creature’s arm clean off. It was a DomZ guard creature, almost lizard-like in its appearance. It reeled back in pain clutching its bleeding arm allowing Sev to make three zigzagging swings across its spindly torso. Sev dived to the floor and balanced himself on his hands as he slice-kicked another creature legs out from under it and cut it in half on the way down. Still balancing on his hands Sev kicked out and his steel capped boot connected with a third creatures jaw. Its head snapped to the side, followed by its body. Sev ignored he neutralized threat and swung diagonally across another lizard, he follwed the blades arc towards the ground and used his foot to launch himself back into the creature he’d kicked before. This time with an upwards swing which finished off the creature, he stood and surveyed the body and limb strewn room. “What a mess’ Sev said cynically, they’d hoped to find an unguarded way into the DomZ lair here at the Alpha’s Atrox base but that had failed dismally. One of the splindly creatures had seen them and screamed a warning, so now they had a whole swarm to deal with. Sev turned to where Hub swung viciously at DomZ lizard and sent into crashing against the wall.

“So much for the quiet entry” Hub observed, he was at least 6’ 3” with a powerful build and clad in the armour of a Hillyan soldier. A brassy chest plate, greaves, shinpads and arm plates covered his powerful body in laser reflective armour. He had a heavyset head with dark eyes and short black hair. Hub used an enormous T-Hammer as his primary weapon but also carried a GICW and a Farrier .45 Pistol as secondary weapons.

“Yeah, yeah quit with the talking, we gotta get moving and find your girl before anymore of this lot shows up” Sev snapped, without waiting for Hub he sheathed his shamshir and sprinted down the tunnel, now remembering the facts as he returned from the haze of battle. They were in a grey, steel, featureless maintenance passageway that led to the heart of the DomZ base, where Jade was being kept according to the reports they had found on their way in. Sev thought about Jade again as he was running, he knew how he used to feel, but it had been replaced by a cold disregard. As he was running the passage dropped suddenly and Sev found himself tumbling out of control down a steep chute. He gathered speed but managed to get up so he was sliding on his legs, one stretched out with his boot grinding the floor of the chute and the other tucked underneath him so his kneepad was grinding as well. Sev put a gloved hand out and put some of his weight on that, settled into that position he began to control his slide. Soon Sev saw a light approaching at high velocity, this shaft had no cover! Sev braced for a painful landing as he shot out but the shaft opened a metre above the green floor. Sev flew through the air and crash-landed in a painful heap. He immediately launched himself onto his feet and surveyed his surroundings. It was a massive diamond shaped cavity covered in DomZ architecture: slimy green walls and lots of steam, heat and moisture. He was standing on a platform that was attached to the walls at several points. In the center a tall column glowing with green light rose into the shadows that obscured the cavern’s roof. Without waiting for Hub, Sev walked towards the column, as he approached he heard a whisper and spun, nothing. “Caution Severus, there are things here you do not understand.”

“Yeah yeah” Sev growled and kept walking, but he did draw his shamshir. He quickened his pace and reached the column, there seemed to be no way inside so he walked around its base, still nothing. Starting to get irritated Sev looked up at the light, maybe that was a way in, but the light seemed to have no source. Thoroughly irritated Sev kicked at the column and the light died instantly, plunging the green cavern into pitch darkness. A bright flash from a distance caught Sev’s eye, it was Hub with flare in one hand and T-Hammer in the other. Sev stayed away from the light, planning to use Hub as to spring whatever trap had been laid for them. He moved just outside the flare’s circle of light and walked along side the bright circle. Then something at his foot glowed blue, Sev looked down to see e was standing on some strange DomZ symbol. Suddenly the entire platform lit up with thousands upon thousands of blue symbols in concentric rings around the column. The symbols gave off a blue glow that made the platform look like it was buried under blue mist. “I think it means ‘Shauni, awaken!’ But its repeated thousands of times, be careful there’s two of us n here, I’m not getting killed because of your stupidy”. Without warning there was a blinding flash at the top of the column and a small sphere of light shot down to the platform. It hit the bottom and a section of column wall was blown out. The sphere drifted forwards until Sev could make out first just a shape, then it was a person, then…Jade!

“Miss Jade!” Hub shouted and ran forward, disregarding any safety or common sense. He reached into the orb and grabbed Jade, the light vanished and she hung limply from Hub’s arms. He checked her pulse and breathing, she just wasn’t conscious. Jade was wearing a thin white robe that seemed to change colour as one move, it was beginning to hurt Hub’s eyes so he looked at her face, Jade’s hair had grown long and she looked slightly older, as if she had still been ageing in that sphere. She moaned and her eyes half opened, Hub’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of her vivid green eyes again. “Miss Jade are you alright?”

“I’m, I’m fine Double H, where are we?” Jade asked in a quiet voice, still weak from whatever the DomZ had been doing to her for two years. Jade sat up and leaned against Hub’s armour as she slowly regained her strength, but her mind and soul were buzzing with energy that she had ever felt before. Well not quite, she had always felt some strangeness within her soul, something that strange floodgates held back. It seemed that whatever this was it had been unleashed, for better or worse.

“We got company”

Jade glanced up, a man about her age in a green armoured jacket, black T-shirt and armoured black trousers was standing over the two a sword with a strangely curved blade in his hands. But it was his face that was the strangest; he had chin length black hair in small cluster of spikes and a short ponytail. Jade sat up and a sheet of her own hair fell over her eyes, it was much longer, down below her armpits at least. Then she was the swarms of DomZ Sarocoughogi surrounding them...

“Leatherneck, take the girl, I can hold these freaks all day, access code to Dagger’s 0J1A2D3E4” Sev could no longer remember why he chose that code, but it seemed familiar to him.

In no mood to spend much time argueig with the short-tempered mercenary, Hub scooped Jade up in one arm and drew his GICW with the other. The combination of Assault Rifle and under slung Shotgun was heavy but with his power armour he could hold it. Hub took a quick glance around the cavern, now illuminated only by the glowing symbols on the floor again. This would be tight and he wasn’t sure how he was going to get Jade up the shaft and himself as well while fighting off the DomZ. That still left Sev behind and Hub had never left a comrade behind, even in Solomarr VIIA during the Solomarr crisis, he had refused to abandon the men under his command and it had cost him his commission.

“IF you’re goig to run I suggest to do…aww screw it we’ll let Daggermouth make our way out” with that Sev’s hand shot for his S.A.C and nailed a button that began beeping…

…Outside, in a dusty Sahara canyon a mile from Atrox Base, the long form of Daggermouth a thousand-year old gunship lift off like a living creature, its jets pushing up and the rest of it: a dragon like body with articulating jets with long fins, moving hull plates and wings followed the force as if a red steel dragon was taking off. She rocketed into the air above the canyon and her huge main engine ignited, followed by the cluster of eight smaller engines on articulating mounts organized in a pentagon around the main body. Her sleek dragon-like form tore through the air metres above the ground.

At that moment a farmer clad in coarse linen robes stood on the top of a dune surveying his herd of mammoth-like Gordhas. Her heard a high roar behind him and turned, expecting to see the Alphas come by and buzz his cattle for fun, maybe shoot a few. Instead he saw a shape like a crimson dragon arrowing toward him at high speed. The farmer dropped the hunting rifle he was holding and started backing away in fear, he ducked behind the solitary dead tree on the dune hoping it wouldn’t see him. The strange vessel, like a space bound being clad in red armour turned and flashed by with a slipstream that knocked the dead tree over and threw the farmer to the ground. In the next instant the creature-like ship, or was it ship-like creature? Was gone, the farmer dropped to his knees and started praying…

…Back in the cavern the swarms of DomZ slowly closed ranks on the trio. With oly two off them capable of fighting they were in a bad way. Sev had drawn his 2430 Desert Eagle Special Edition and it was hanging limply from his casual fingers, like his sword. Hub on the other hand was on a hair-trigger, half hunched over with the GICW pressed against his shoulder his laser sight whipped back and forth across the masses of creatures. Jade on the other hand was still crouched on the ground weakened and unable to stand up. It was taking her a long time to regain her strength and her limbs felt like jelly. For some reason she picked up a high sound, almost like a roar, the next moment a huge explosion rocked the cavern as a hole was blasted through the side of an upper wall, rocks rained down and scores of the creatures were crushed, but not enough to make their situation any less hopeless if the two men insisted on turning this into a slugging match. Not that she would ever admit it but she was afraid, the two soldiers couldn’t possibly win and she was in no position to defend herself. She would be dragged down and killed, unable to do anything about it. That was until a crimson ship soared through the gaping hole in the wall, scattering the dust and allowing a ray of sunshine to penetrate the cavern. The ship circled the column in the centre before soaring with understated grace towards the DomZ free circle the surrounded Jade and her two companions.

“Everyone in now!” Sev barked, “Start shooting!” with that he brought up the Desert Eagle and opened fire, the magnum booming in the confined space. On the other side Hub picked up Jade with one arm and nailed his GICW’s trigger. The rifle roared and spat out a barrage of fire as the DomZ swarmed. Jade felt Hub running towards the crimson ship and firing until his magazine ran dry. They dived through the ship’s open boarding hatch and crashed to the floor as the ship lifted off.

Sev didn’t bother checking on his passengers, he knew they would make it from the start. Instead he focused on getting Daggermouth airborne and away. With perfect response the graceful ship lifted into the air while closing her boarding hatch automatically. Sev nailed the throttle and the ship leapt forward in a spiral as Sev made her climb higher and higher around the column. He leveled out and direced the airship toward the openening she hade made to get in but found it blocked by a wall of DomZ. Without hesitating Sev squeezed the triggers and the ship shook as her four cannons opened fire. The shells simply shredded the DomZ and within moment the pathway was clear. Then Sev saw the maneuvering Daggermouth had gone through to get here. This was a thin servie tunnel that came straight toward the cavern before terminating in a T-Junction where the ship had blasted her way in. Sev smiled grimly, this would be a challenge, and he loved challenges. Without hesitation he pushed the craft to go faster and the protrusion laded wall turned to a blur as Daggermouth built speed. A few seconds of adrenaline pumping flyiung later and they were in a wide, artificial cavern with steel walls and massive amounts of scaffolding fillig the interior. Apparently Daggermouth’s arrival hadn’t gone unnoticed and there were now at least thirty Alpha skiffs and fighter waiting in the cavern. Sev quickyly locked in a targeting solution on twenty and fired Daggermouth’s twin, wing root mounted ten-barrel missile pods. Twenty smoky trails leapt from her wing roots and the formation scattere every which way, some crashing into others or the scaffolding and the missiles claiming more. Sev sent Daggermouth ito the scaffolding, recklessly careening between the thicker pieces and simply snapping the thinner ones. Ten ship tried to follow her through but Sev made a suicidal dive that sent the ship down a long open section of scaffold. Seven ships made the maneuver and the other three plowed into the scaffold. Sev leveled out at the base and two more ploughed into the floor. ‘five to go’ Sev thought, he hit another command and three small balls flew from Daggermouth’s tail, they collided with the the lead ship and a huge explosion swallowed another ship. It also caused the scaffold to start collapsing and Sev had to make violent swerves in order to avoid the falling steel bars. Blood pounding in his ears, Sev made a final twist that sent Daggermouth barrel rolling into open sunshine as a titanic fireball billowed from the artificial cavern. Sev turned to his passengers, now lying in a disheveled heap on the floor and said four simple words “Well that was fun”

Jade looked at him, half sick, half angry “I hate you” she said weakly.

SAHARA HIGH ORBIT-Daggermouth cockpit
Sev lounged back in the cockpit as Jade walked in on him, still in the white robe they had found her in. Sev glanced over at her before looking bak into the marvelous view of space provided by Daggermouth’s clear, frameless canopy.

“So, just who are you?” jade asked, her face had lost the green tinge it had acquired during their escape and she was now questioning Sev intently. If he could tell the truth he was enjoying her inquisitive nature.

“Severus Caravera, call me Sev.”

“Right and who do you…” jade’s question was cut off by a warning tone. “What’s that”

“Bad news” Sev growled as he read the report now appearing on one of the screens. “Real bad news, we got some really nasty company”

At that moment a pair of DomZ Battleships decloaked and trained their weapons on the gunship…

Well, I don't think the Redux is necessary because yoyur original story was already well written. It was the best written fanfic before Rivetkitten came along. But I'll keep on enjoying reading it anyway.
