I really, really want to play BG&E on the PC, despite owning it on the Xbox (yep, I dig it that much) and am willing to pay for the privalege, yet I am unable to do so due to the fact that I don't live in the U.S.

Is there a reason for this snub?
Do you want me to acquire the game by other means....?

What's the deal Ubisoft?

Cheers.

Here's hoping they see reason.

Where do you live(you dont have to answer this question if you dont want to) and how come you cant play it on pc?

Also why would you want to play it on pc if youve already played it on xbox? Confused

It would help if you could explain what you are trying to do?

Are you trying to purchase the downloadable version?
Why not purchase the PC hard copy - its still widely available.

Some clarification would be useful.

Country of residence would be helpful aswell.

Thanks

You probably haven't heard that Ubisoft have made a deal with Valve to release their games on Steam - but only to North American customers. Why this is I don't know, but it reeks of arrogance to me (even though it's probably a distribution rights thing, which I do not understand - it's their games right?)
Even Direct2Drive is for North American customers only.

I live in Australia. The lucky home of overpriced and censored video games....

The reason I wanted to download it is simply due to convenience. There hasn't been a copy in stores for years now and I thought downloading it would be easy, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case.

Yeah I do already own it on the Xbox, and aside from the fact that I don't own the original console anymore I'd prefer playing it on the PC due to the higher graphical fidelity. Plus I would like to support the game by buying another copy and let Ubisoft know that the game does have fans who would love to see the planned sequel eventuate.

Hey I live in Australia too Big Grin Dont we have te worst game selection? I havent seen a copy of this game on store shelves for a while either.

Are you sure the pc version actually performs better? Because I heard the pc version has some graphical glitches and according to gamespot the xbox version is the 'best'. So you may have already experinced played the high fidelity version of the game.

Yeah we certainly get boned when it comes to games. Did you hear that Grand Theft Auto IV is being censored for the Australian release - I absolutely am fuming over this, now I have to cancel my pre-order and import from overseas. Grrrr.

I didn't know about the glitchy PC version to be honest, but like I said I don't have the original Xbox console anymore (upgraded to a 360) and it's not backwards compatible so I guess the PC version will have to suffice.

The suggestion I'm getting from the Community Managers is to try online stores

Amazon ships internationally

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_vg_h_/203-2174478-5...d+and+evil&x=20&y=17

I don't think you'll find it any cheaper.

Hey thanks. Yeah that's a decent price...

If you don't mind, and if possible, could you ask someone why Ubisoft is refusing to allow digital downloads of their games to people outside North America? It just seems like a stupid and arrogant snub to me. I mean they would make more money if they allow more people to buy their games, no?

You can also get BGE for PC off of Gametap for a price if you have an account, as well as Psychonauts for free [another quality cult classic]. I live in NA so I don't know if Gametap works for AU but it should...don't know why it wouldn't.

Seriously there are so many ways to get a copy of this game now, hopefully when Ubisoft releases the sequel they'll put it up on Steam or Gametap as well because that's almost advertisement in itself. [As is protesting in the streets with IRIS signs ^_^]

Yeah I think Gametap is available down here in Oz. That said I'm not really a fan of the subscription model as I prefer to "own" my games outright. Plus Gametap have been known to remove games once their contact runs out...

Oh and I absolutely love Psychonauts. Again I own that on the PS2 and I bought it on Steam. That's why I was hoping that BG&E would be available on the platform - it's so easy to use and I was hoping to build up my library.
